Aztec. A couple weeks back I was lamenting about how I had failed to nab the Isabel Marant ‘renell’ jeans when I had the chance, and had been furiously scouring ebay for a pair each day. While these aren’t Isabel Marant, at this point in time, they are the closest thing to the actual jeans that I think I’m going to find, within a reasonable price range. They made the perfect pair of jeans for a Saturday yum char feast and running around town to do a few errands, all while channelling my inner Geraldine Saglio.
I guess these jeans in themselves bring up the question of designer inspired vs designer copies. I’ve always been quite happy to buy something designer-inspired, or something very closely resembling a designer piece, if the intent is to test it, and see if it would be worth spending a considerable amount of money on the real thing. Most designer pieces are a real investment, and you should be certain about your purchase when you go to make it. It’s inevitable that the high street will take inspiration from luxury brands, translating trends in a way that it is available en masse. The grey area is when the resemblance is so close, that you would find it difficult to distinguish the real thing from the fake. I imagine that thesse jeans fall into that grey area, and believe me, if I could have the real thing in the place of these, I most certainly would. In the meantime, I suppose these will have to make do.
I know exactly what you mean! I try to avoid blatant rip-offs but sometimes I just have to (if the real item sells out or something like that, haha). But like you said, they are good for testing out the item to see if you'd wear the designer one a lot. 🙂

Oh wow! They look so damn good on you! I wouldn't have even known they weren't the real thing. I'm in the same boat at the moment; there is a Comme striped top that I want but it's out of stock everywhere I've looked. There is a potentially fake version on eBay for a fraction of the price, but Ive got my fingers crossed the real version will be restocked soon! If not, eBay here I come!
lovely jeans!

amazing jeans, I love how you've styled them!
I'm usually wary of flat-out copies, but inspired pieces are great imo as you get to experiment a bit with the design before you commit the $$ on the real thing xx
Thanks for visiting me on my blog! I'm so glad I found yours. You have a great style!

I am not really bothered by inspired items and even those items that very closely resemble their inspiration item. I see it as inevitable and am fine with it. I think these jeans are lovely regardless! You look super cute x
Love your pants and necklace !

Your look it's fantastic today. Everything are look nice together. Your shoes are perfect!
This is a great look, I love those pants and shoes (as always!). I'm all about finding similar pieces for less. I definitely agree that it's a great way to test a piece before you buy the designer piece.
I think that *inspired* is fine, but a flat out copy is a no go for me. Even though, most often than not I won't be able to afford the original. However, inspired is a-ok because most designers have been inspired by each other at some point or another throughout their careers.
Love the jeans 🙂
Cute backdrop. Love the outfit too, I remember you never used to wear pants/jeans but they look great on you. I agree that 'inspired' is inevitable and I feel more comfortable with that than copied… but honestly, half the time I probably wouldn't even know.
Absolutely adore this outfit! I really love the way you've styled the jeans x
Love the jeans – they're gorgeous!
Great outfit! Love the Proenza Schouler bag & the Aztec jeans! Adore that necklace too, where is it from? 🙂
so cute!
Eeek exciting! I actually for a second thought these were the Isabel Marant jeans as they look so similar! I agree – there's nothing wrong with designer inspired (especially if it's a trend item) but I prefer to go for as good quality as I'm able to afford when it's something that I know is timeless (eg, a handbag).
Awesome jeans!
Those jeans are just so fun, love it. What a great casual outfit!
