I’m a good two months in to the Five Piece French Wardrobe challenge and I’ve somehow managed to refrain from adding too many things to my closet. My Dream Box on Yoox would tell you another story, although where’s the harm in flirting with a little window shopping?
That being said, I finally picked up the first of my five – the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag – which has been sitting at the top of my wishlist for some time now. I bit the bullet back in September last year and pre-ordered it, a good six months out, and I was still just as excited when I received my tracking information as I was when I first put the deposit down.
The bag has a slick, glossy black exterior, and a ballerina pink lining – a contrast which had me absolutely smitten from the get-go. It’s much more structured than my other handbags, and the interior is roo-my – it comfortably fits my camera, kindle, a notebook, and all my other daily necessities with a little room to spare.
So, two months down, another four to go, with four more purchases in the bank.
I’m hoping to try and stick to my list as much as possible, but the closer we get to winter (and the more time I spend wedding planning…), the more I realize that maybe, just maybe, I don’t need an Acne Studios shearling jacket. And maybe, just maybe, I can do without those Nicholas Kirkwood heels for a few more months. Looks like this could get a little interesting…

Love this!

You should go try on that shearling jacket if you can! I find what helps me make up my mind about spendy purchases is to go in and see it, touch it, and try it on.
Congrats on the bag! Looks beautiful 🙂

I tried it on about 5 months ago and was smitten, although the price makes buying it a little prohibitive! It doesn’t get too cold in Sydney either so it would be more of a vanity purchase if anything haha.
gorgeous bag. methinks shearling is too warm for sydney…

I would say you’re probably right. Hoping to swing a trip to northern Europe next year so kinda trying to justify it by that…

Love the bag – I have to look up this French protocol, I’m forever trying hard NOT to shop – although I do have my eye on the pre-order of the new Benah for Karen Walker Bags…
I agree, you should go and try the jacket on. It might be totally wrong… or it might be so perfect you have to buy it, o’ oh.
