So for June I thought I’d mix things up a little bit and talk about a few fashion favourites too. Judging by the feedback that I’ve received over the weekend, it’s going to be a regular feature every month from now on.
Starting with fashion, I’ve been all about my Acne Studios jensen boots, which should come as little surprise. These have worn pretty well so far and are such a great winter staple. Same goes for my winter beanie (also from Acne Studios) which has become a must on the crisp morning walks to work. Rounding out the trio is a slim fit stripe long sleeve tee from Country Road, which is great for on the weekend, or to dress down my Lover lace skirts which feel oddly out of place in my office.
On the beauty end of the scale, I’ve been loving a couple of cheep and cheerful products from the brand Essence. I went a little HAM at Priceline (this seems to be happening on the reg at the moment so please don’t judge), and picked up every single lip liner in stock, as at $2 a pop, it would’ve been crazy not too. These are on par with the pro longwear lip liners from MAC, in that they are ultra creamy and so easy to apply to your lips. The staying power isn’t half bad either (I think this is where MAC wins… just…!); although my only complaint? That there isn’t a larger shade range!
I also have been really enjoying using the Essence Sun Club matte bronzing powder, which adds a really warm, subtle glow to the high points of my face. I nabbed the compact for Blondes as I feel like this is a really natural option for winter when I have a bit less colour on my face and really seems to add a bit of life into my pale winter skin.
For eyes, I’ve got an old favourite and a new one; the first is the NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof eyeshadow base. I’m not quite sure what I would do without this now; it’s become a regular part of my beauty routine if I’m looking to add a bit of colour to my lids and 100% necessary as my eyelids are so oily. Then, I’ve been testing out a new mascara as of late and I’ve been really enjoying it; it’s the Scandaleyes Xx-treme from Rimmel. If you’re not a fan of a plastic bristle wand then this isn’t for you, but I really love how lengthening this mascara is and that the shape allows you to control whether you lengthen or add volume to your lashes (or both, if that’s your jam).
As usual, I’ve popped together a video featuring all of my favourites which you can check out below to see them in action x
