Glassons peplum top, Karen Walker skirt, belt and cadet hat, Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, Proenza Schouler PS11 bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs katie bracelet, Stolen Girlfriends Club bow ring
This week has signified some pretty huge changes in my life, essentially setting the backdrop for what is a fresh start to the year. I started a new job yesterday, and in addition to that I will be moving this weekend, yet am feeling surprisingly calm about these two upheavals in my life. It’s a great feeling when things just start falling into place when you aren’t even trying, especially for the girl who usually organises everything at least six months in advance (what can I say, girl likes to be prepared).
I spent half of my Saturday with my family for my yiaya’s 80th birthday, and the other half with some of my closest friends as I hosted some drinks at my place. These are the kinds of nights that usually lend to some level of silliness, like playing with leftover Christmas candy canes and chocolate, and of course finding repeated novelty in occasionally whipping on the Karen Walker cadet hat. Still toying with the idea of wearing this seriously.. out of the house, although I think the strange looks and the potential for the hat to go flying in the wind are likely to stop me. In the meantime, I’m quite content with wearing other such frivolities in my wardrobe like my kitty flats, everything polka dot, and of course, peplums. All good things come in threes..
You look gorgeous!!! I love your outfit, so much stylishness in one go. I have been lusting after those Charlotte Olympia shoes for such a long time, one day..! Your hat reminds me of those guards that stand outside Buckingham Palace. I don’t think it looks too bad at all, maybe in Summer with this exact outfit, I think you can totally pull it off!! Congratulations on your new job, and also house moving!! I hope it all goes well for you, and how exciting is it to have a whole new place to decorate as you wish 🙂 x
I just love that skirt! And haha, that would be very bad if your hat flew off in the wind! Best keep it safe indoors 😉
(woohoo for everything falling into place! I wish I could say the same for myself…)

Hi there! Thanks for visiting & leaving a comment on my blog, you’re lovely! 😀
These pictures are so beautiful! You know, most of the time I only like one piece of clothing when people do an outfit post, but I really like your entire outfit right there! 😀 I’d definately wear it myself, love the skirt!
xx
I LOVE this outfit especially the skirt!
hope the move goes well jamie-lee.. love the raw edges of that peplum and oh that hat is just too cute not to wear out seriously!
Sounds like you are keeping yourself busy! Hope your job is OK and your move isn’t too stressful!

Love your top – it’s got a linen vibe to it and I’m sure it will look amazing in the spring/summer also! It also matches the skirt completely!

Love your outfit! The pokadot skirt looks super cute. Love your bag and shoes as well! xx
Love this outfit, it’s adorable. You even pull off the hat quite well, though I don’t know if I’d be game to wear it in public either.
Huge congratulations on the new job! I really hope the move goes well & is as stress free as possible too 🙂
Love the polkadots & the frayed edges on the top are such a gorgeous little detail. I actually think you pull the hat off, it really suits you! It looks so light though & I’d be pretty worried of it blowing off too!
Hey girl. I love your bag, shoes, bracelet…great taste! good luck with the moving btw..xoxo

What a great outfit! I love the peplum and the sweet skirt!
I love how sweet and feminine your outfit is! Congrats on the new job and good luck with moving!
Congratulations on the new job and hopefully your move will go smoothly. I actually think the hat looks good on you and if it was me, I would definitely wear it out in public at least once just to see if/how people would react 🙂
P.S. About “The Eatery” app: I agree that something could look healthy and not be, but usually I guess people just go with their instincts and usually that’s the best way to go (in my experience anyway). Food is tricky!
I love the hat! I think it’s great to wear something different, a twist on the classic summer straw hat! I’ve been thinking about getting a peplum top, but havent tried one on yet, they look great on you, I think I’ll have to go try one now! Congrats on the new job and new house!

Peplum looks fabulous on you. I’m always tempted by it but have yet to try on that silhouette. Your post is certainly tempting me to try!

First of all, congratulations ! These changes in your life sound great. And tempting, since I’ve been playing with the thought of moving.. (loving my current job though, so might just consider moving inside this city heh) Your night with the friends sounds nice too 😀
