If there’s one thing that will never go out of style, it’s undoubtedly a good ol’ head to toe black outfit. It’s a safety net for me; a bit of a fall back on days when I don’t know what to wear. And what I love most about this monochrome look, is that it’s effortlessly chic.
Wearing Mott & Bow cashmere sweater, Dr Denim skinny jeans (old but similar here), Isabel Marant belt (also here), Grana alpaca coat (similar here), Sam Edelman loafers, Everlane mini day tote, Madewell earrings, Muru Jewellery necklace, Linjer siri wrap ring, Linjer sigrid bracelet
As always, I went with my standard styling tricks to make this feel slightly elevated. I mixed up my textures, opting to pair a cashmere sweater with stretch denim, and an alpaca wool coat. There’s also the added texture from the shoes and bag, which are both leather. Also for anyone curious, I’m planning to share a review on the Everlane mini day tote next week, so keep an eye out if this bag has had you intrigued…
I balanced out my proportions. High-waisted jeans to make my legs look longer (and balance out my long torso). An oversized coat set against a skinny jean.
And finally, I mixed metals. I really enjoy experimenting with this and I think two metals is a safe way to go. For me, it’s always the classic gold and silver combo. It’s a little subtle, but the belt buckle is a super shiny silver, and then I opted for gold jewellery and hardware on my shoes as a counter balance.
