Currently living for oversized knit sweaters. The chunkier – and cosier – the better. Frosty mornings have hinted at cooler weather to come, and I’ve been enjoying mapping out my A/W wardrobe, which includes an update to the base colour palette of my wardrobe.

I’ll typically wear a lot of black during winter (#monochromestyle), but have been enjoying re-introducing a bit of navy to my closet. It’s almost another one of those universal colours that just works well with everything, without creating such a stark contrast between your complexion and outfit. The johnny sweater from L’Envers is the latest addition of that ilk; a simple crew neck woven in a ribbed pattern, with an oversized fit through the body. It’s 100% Spanish merino wool, and has a textured quality to the touch, which I can see softening up over time with wear.
Clearly, I have a bit of a type. And it’s little wonder. Oversized knitwear is one of the core style staples I recently highlighted in my 2020 style manifesto.
While it’s still warm, I’ll be balancing out these chunky knits with tailored shorts and mini skirts, or worn loose over a lightweight dress. Then, as it cools, I’ll look to wear them with longer midi length skirts, tailored trousers, and skinny jeans.
I’m so in love with that sweater! I agree with you: the chunkier and cosier, the better 😉
