I’m a little late to the game but I wanted to share that public access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 is now open! If you aren’t familiar with this annual Nordstrom sale, then you can check out my previous post HERE, where I also narrowed down some of my favourite finds.
A strategy a lot of people tend to employ during this sale is “shop now, return later”. Perhaps even more apt during the current pandemic. Though generally what this means is that a lot of the more “popular” key styles tend to sell out. And fast.
So I’ve given the sale another browse through, keeping a close eye out for well made/good quality wardrobe staples. A lot of the classic pieces I featured in my previous post are still available, but I did spot a handful of additional items that I am loving, which are still in stock in most sizes, that I wanted to share with you.
01 | Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Pullover
The second I saw this knit, I immediately thought of my Joseph rollneck sweater. You know, the one I wear repeatedly. This cashmere version feels like a luxe upgrade on that piece, and I absolutely love the split collar design. It adds a unique element, and one of those details which make this an elevated basic. You also can’t go wrong with a good neutral hue, and the honey beige is such a pretty option for the cooler months.
02 | Sam Edelman Water Repellant Trench Coat
The transitional season is almost upon us, which is the time of year where I find myself reaching for lightweight jackets the most. Personally, I love a good trench coat, as it’s a timeless wardrobe staple that goes with everything. I loved that this version from Sam Edelman is a mac style, which means it’s single-breasted, with buttons down the front. The contrast buttons are one of the things that really pops on this piece. Plus, it’s water repellant! Perfect if you get caught in a downpour.
03 | Theory Glen Plaid Coat
If there’s one area in your wardrobe that I think is worth spending a little extra on, it’s a good coat. Assuming you live in a colder climate, of course! Not only is it going to be keeping you warm (and battling the elements for you), but it’s also the first thing people will see when you step in the door. During winter, I consider it the hero of my outfit. This one from Theory is a little bit more of a splurge, but to me it’s something special. I love the lighter tone, and glen plaid check all over. It’s feels classic while making a subtle statement; plus, it would look amazing in a head to toe neutral look.
04 | Steve Madden Natalie Pointed Toe Bootie
Final thing I wanted to mention are these classic ankle boots with a block heel from Steve Madden. I talk a lot about how I tend to favour pointed shoes; they’re an instant leg lengthener – great if you want to look taller. The effect is even more pronounced in the winter, especially if you’re wearing black on your lower half. Just imagine these with a little black shift dress, and some opaque tights. Your legs would look a mile long! The thing I liked most about these boots? That curvature at the heel. Going back to what I was talking about before, it’s a small detail but is what really elevates this basic pice. Love that it has a side zip closure, too.
