With all the limited holiday collections starting to drop ahead of Christmas, I’m starting to feel really excited for the festive season. And that was amplified when I received a taste of the Mecca Max Feel-Good Beauty range, which launched this past week.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing some guides around gifting, and the best sales (as we all know Black Friday and Cyber Week are on our doorstep…). But I thought today, I’d give you a closer look at this new range from Mecca Max, as well as Mecca’s stunning holiday packaging. This year’s packaging was designed by Chinese-Australian artist Louise Zhang, inspired by an exploration into her culture; with particular focus on botany, landscape, folklore and symbolism.
The collection is focused on mood-boosting brights, and lots of dazzling glitters for the festive season. Basically, the kind of makeup that is fun to play with. All products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The collection starts at just $12 (AUD), with most products falling under the $45 (AUD) price point.
Golden Hour Everyday Palette ($35 AUD) | This is essentially an instant look in a palette. You’ve got all the basics to get that beautiful summer glow, some great neutral shadows, and some sparkle. To top it off, there’s a high shine lip gloss in a universally flattering petal pink.
Eyeshadow Quads ($12) | You may know by now that eyeshadow is my ultimate makeup weakness. And I was absolutely smitten when I spotted these delightful eyeshadow quads. The price point sweetens the deal even more. These are intensely pigmented, and feel so buttery to the touch. I have the “summer sunset” shade – it pulls a little more warm/neutral than it appears above.
Double or Nothing Zoom Shadow Stick Duo ($29 AUD) | These Zoom Shadow Sticks from Mecca are such a delight. And you really can’t go wrong with this neutral-toned combo. Super creamy, they blend out beautifully for an all-over-lid look, and they don’t budge. A little caveat here; I always use an eyeshadow primer to guarantee longevity for my eye makeup. I love the shimmer too – adds a nice touch of sparkle to the eyes. A really great alternative to higher end options like the By Terry Ombre Blackstars, or the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. Individually these retail for $18 each (you can check out the full colour range here), so it’s a great opportunity to snag the two bestsellers at a reduced price.
Brush Over Brush Set ($85) | One of the more expensive products in the Mecca Max Feel-Good Beauty Collection. But it’s such good value for money. A lot of how makeup looks on your face is down to application and prep; so you can imagine, good brushes are everything. This set of eight brushes has everything you need to pull off any makeup look, and they’re soft to boot. I especially love the little travel case it comes with. The coral hue packs a punch, and you can use just the bottom half as a vessel to store them in on your vanity.
Mood Lighting Cream Face Palette ($29 AUD) |I heavily gravitate towards cream products, but even more so in the summer. They look so natural, and I personally find them really easy to apply. This limited edition face palette has a cream bronzer, blush, and two highlights – one golden, and one iridescent white. You can probably tell at a glance that the formula is quite glittery; on the skin it has a sheen with sparkly reflects. If you’re just starting out with cream face products, this is one to try as it starts off subtle, and builds up the more product you apply.
Gloss Posse Mini Lipglaze Trio ($28 AUD) | The final set I received from the Mecca Max Feel-Good Beauty Holiday Collection was this trio of lip glosses. I’ll be the first to admit that lip gloss isn’t really my thing, but they’ve come a long way since the early 2000s. These are perfect for popping on over lippie if you want that glazed lip look, or worn on their own for to add a bit of colour to your lips, and some serious shine.
A couple of my other picks from the collection? The Locking Eyes Eyeshadow Palette looks incredible. An eclectic mix of classic neutrals and shimmers, as well as some bold brights – you could create some really fun makeup looks with this palette. I also love a good mini too, especially if it looks pretty hung up on the tree. How cute is this Glow Brighter Ornament? From the pictures it looks like there’s a purple iridescent sparkle; really pretty if you’re opting for a cooler toned makeup look.
