Sezane 2022 Summer Collection: Everything I want to buy

Sezane 2022 Summer Collection Review and Top Picks

Sezane seem to have done it again; created a huge temptation for me with their new summer collection, in spite of my low buy. As I’m usually want to do, I’m hoping to hold off making any purchase for 30 days. Though if I weren’t limiting my purchases – or my clothing budget – this is what I’d probably add to cart. Along with a few other bits and bobs, no doubt! So, let’s chat through my Sezane 2022 Summer Collection picks.

Sezane Leandra Skirt

I’ve mentioned my love of this thick Jacquard skirt in the past, but in the embroidered blue floral, it’s truly something special. A little off-piece for me, but it’s my pick of the bunch. Perhaps it’s the trend of dopamine dressing that has me drawn to this skirt. Or, maybe a natural desire to integrate a bit more colour into my (rather neutral) wardrobe. Those details that I loved in the more pared back ecru feel slightly subdued here; the thick tie at the waist, and the wrap effect both disguised by the loud floral pattern. Given it’s autumn here in Australia, I envision this worn with my cosy cashmere knit in navy and a little ballet flat or boot. Or alternatively with a boxy fitting tee and oversized blazer. This print comes in a few other pieces, notably the Dorian Shorts which I think are equally sweet.

Another colourful piece. Who am I? In all seriousness, I’ve noticed myself drawn to items I think would nice round out the basics I’ve amassed over the years. The thing that’s been shining throughout is a desire to add soft, muted colours. Items that might not be everyday staples, but that would act as focal or “statement” options for the season. For me it’s all about how the Lois Blouse is cut. The puffed sleeves fall to just above the elbow, giving you that extra coverage on the arms. The neckline is squared off, which feels very current. Leaning into the femininity of this piece, it has a tie back detail, and floral broderie anglaise with contrast white stitching. Very pretty. Only thing that’s hard to tell from the images is the length.

I have a bit of a soft spot for t-bar sandals, so it was only natural that the Sally Low Sandals would be a favourite from the new Sezane 2022 Summer Collection. Coincidentally, I was recently going through a list of transitional season essentials. Comparing autumn and spring basics (as I currently see them), and a black or cognac sandal were one of the items that made the list. I love the simplicity of this style. The only “adornment” being two studs and some embroidered along the vertical strap.

Sezane Philly Dress Review

Sezane Philly Dress

Something about this dress feels hugely nostalgic to me. I think, because both the print and the style remind me of a dress I purchased in Paris and wore a number of times while travelling through Europe with my mum and stepdad. Though safe to say the Philly Dress feels like an elevated take. I like that the ties at the shoulder are adjustable, and could be adjusted to sit at the back if you so wished. The smocking at the back of the bust means there’s flexibility in the sizing. Which combined with the airy tiered silhouette of the skirt, make for an easy, breezy summer dress (despite the maxi length!). Ditsy florals come back every year too, so unlike some printed pieces it’d never feel dated. Helps that it’s nursing (and maternity) friendly, too!

The second pair of shoes I have my eye on are the Arthur Low Sandals. Again, a Sezane mainstay that I’m fairly certain I’ve mentioned before. A “barely there”-esque pair of sandals, with straps which criss-cross their way up to the ankle. While there’s no arguing that the leather version of these shoes would be more pragmatic, I do think that the woven ecru pair are stunning. I have a sneaking suspicion that the straps might discolour quite easily. From a practical standpoint, the only thing that would stop me from adding these to cart is the maintenance. But boy are they pretty. The leather ones are here if you’d like to take a peek at those

I hear you. Everything is very tempting in terms of buying. If I were to buy one item, I would love the Philly dress. It’s gorgeous!
