The Most Underrated Items from Quince – Fall 2024

The Most Underrated Items from Quince Fall 2024
Quince Underrated Items you need to know about

Back in January 2021, I placed my first ever order on the Quince website, something that has now turned into a years long love affair with the brand. If you’re unfamiliar, they operate a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) model, which allows them to offer high quality products at affordable prices (and I suspect this would make any sort of wholesale model untenable). At this point, I’ve tried my fair share of products from the brand, all of which I access using mail forwarding as Quince presently only ships within the US (I use Planet Express, if you’re curious). And I thought we could run through what I would consider to be 10 of the most underrated items from Quince for Fall, that I never see people talking about. You’ll also be able to find detailed sizing/measurement guides for each of the items featured here.

#1 | Quince 100% Leather Oversized Biker Jacket

Starting in no particular order, the item I want to highlight first is an oversized leather jacket. To me this is something that flies totally under the radar; it feels substantial on the hand. I was pleasantly surprised by how thick and robust the leather itself is (it’s heavy!), which is accompanied by a luxurious pebbled quality giving it that tactile element I seek out in many of my wardrobe staples.

The styling on their website doesn’t do this jacket justice at all. I went with my usually size small and as expected – from the name – it’s quite the relaxed fit. If you are someone who prefers a traditional fit, you may like to size down or consider one of their other leather jackets (this reminds me a lot of an Acne Studios one I owned many moons ago!).

I truly can’t fault this jacket. It’s lined, the hardware has a nice shine, and there are a lot of pockets too making this feel hyper functional. Also appreciate the zip detail on the sleeves. I’ve personally left these unzipped as it adds to the cool vibe of the jacket. Also, you have to appreciate how good the pricing of their leather jackets is. And of course my expectation is that this will only get better with age.

Wearing size S. Measures 49cm underarm to underarm and is 67cm long.

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Boatneck Sweater Review

#2 | Quince Mongolian Cashmere Boatneck Sweater

It’s likely you’re already familiar with Quince’s $50 cashmere crew. Which side note, if you’ve ever wondered how a cashmere sweater can be $50, I would take a gamble that this is a loss leader for the brand; an item that they’re making little to no profit (or possibly even a loss on). And while that’s a great sweater, I tend to crave silhouettes which feel like an update on a classic. And the boatneck crew exceeded my expectations and then some. This is baby cashmere, and is quite possibly the softest knit I have in my wardrobe. It’s such a favourite, that I wore it twice last week alone.

What I love most about this piece is that it gives you options for styling. You can either wear it traditionally, with that gorgeous open neckline or you can pull the neckline off the shoulder to reveal a bit of skin in a subtly sexy way. Basically the perfect “desk to dinner” piece.

I’m wearing the size small and this fits a lot more roomy through the body that their classic crew, with the addition of the batwing sleeve. Number 1 reason why I adore this so much though, besides the versatility is the softness, like wearing a soft cosy cloud. Perhaps the only other thing worth noting is that the cashmere on this is quite thin and wispy – something that adds to the allure for me, especially given I live in a warmer climate (comparable to LA).

Wearing size S. Measures 62cm underarm to underarm and is 59cm long.

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Cocoon Sweater and 100% Washable Silk Mini Skirt

#3 | Quince 100% Washable Silk Mini Skirt

One of my all-time favourite pieces from Quince, that I am always being asked about is their silk maxi skirt. But I seldom see chatter about the mini, which I personally think is so freaking sweet. The silhouette feels flirty and fun with the flippy flouncy hemline, and there’s a great range of colours to choose from too.

What’s great about this line in particular is that they are a good wash and wear item. As in, low maintenance silk that is actually easy to look after. There’s a lot of appeal for me here, as someone who has two young children, as I don’t feel precious around these skirts. What they do, is add a refined, luxurious quality to my outfits.

I’m wearing a size small and would say that they’re a little roomier at the waist but I see this as a boon especially if you’re someone who bloats. The elastic is quite thick, firm but bouncy. 10 out of 10 – can’t go wrong with any of the lengths they offer.

Wearing size S. Measures 35cm across the waist (unstretched) and is 45cm long.

Quince Italian Suede Penny Loafer Review
Chic and affordable penny loafers

#4 | Quince Italian Suede Penny Loafer

You may not know that Quince also sells shoes. And while their edit isn’t anywhere near as extensive as their clothing selection, it’s worth a second look. I’ve tried quite a few pairs at this point, and the suede penny loafers are the first that really just blew me away. As someone who has wide feet it can be quite challenging to find shoes that work for me. And I was delighted to discover that these are the softest suede leather. No stretching required, and I valued how I could slip them on and they were comfortable from the get-go.

This is one of those items that looks a lot more expensive than it is. Quince shoe sizing does confuse me a little; I’m typically a US9 in brands like Sam Edelman or Vaneli, but got these in the US10. I wear an EU40 in designer brands if that helps.

Wearing size US10. Measures 28cm from heel to toe.

Quince cotton-silk voile blouson blouse review

#5 | Quince Cotton-Silk Voile Blouson Blouse

Another favourite, and this time moreso for the fabric qualities, the way it falls on the body, and the way it feels. A lovely blouson style blouse in a cotton-silk voile. This feels like a little bit of luxury. The fabric has an ethereal quality; semi-sheer but not so much that you wouldn’t feel at ease with just a skin toned bra underneath (though I recommend a cami if you want more modesty).

Perfect for the transitional season as it gives you coverage but isn’t too heavy, and the fabric is quite thin so it can easily be layered.

One thing to note, is that this might not be for you if you have a larger chest and don’t want to emphasise it. The boxy cut across the body does create a sense of width. I find it’s a generous cut. I’m wearing size S here but I also could have done the XS too. Love the silhouette it creates when worn tucked in.

Wearing size S. Measures 68cm underarm to underarm and is 61cm long.

Quince 100% Merino Wool Shirt Jacket Review

#6 | Quince 100% Merino Wool Shirt Jacket

One of those areas in my closet that I’m always happy to spend a little more on is outerwear. And of late, I’ve been prioritising 100% natural fibres, out of practicality and comfort. So of course this 100% merino wool shacket ticked all the boxes. A good option as an outerwear piece that you can wear as a shirt as well if you want if you live somewhere particularly cold, possible with a base layer underneath.

The colour range is outstanding; muted tones that act as interesting neutrals. I’m wearing the olive, a desaturated green with a slight grey undertone.

It has lots of pockets (on the chest and at the hip) which makes it a practical choice and one I’d recommend if you were after a casual jacket option. You could easily throw this on over activewear if you’re just walking the dog. Love the dipped hemline too – makes it feel like the silhouette is a bit more interesting.

I’m wearing the size small and would say it fits true to size for a relaxed fit.

Wearing size S. Measures 53cm underarm to underarm and is 76cm long.

Quince Italian Leather Trapeze Crossbody Bag Review

#7 | Quince Italian Leather Trapeze Crossbody

This feels like a bit of a tease as at the time of writing this, it’s currently sold out, but I couldn’t not mention it. The second I spotted this trapeze crossbody in the new arrivals, I kicked myself for not jumping on it sooner. So I highly recommend doing as I did, and signing up for the wait list (though get in quick as it sells out fast!).

I suspect the limited quantities are likely why this has flown under the radar. It’s very reminiscent of a certain mid-priced bag brand, and the leather quality ranks as the best out of all the Quince bags I’ve tried so far. It’s a beautiful pebbled leather with a nice element of shine.

The bag comes with a detachable strap which is quite easy to remove, and the length is great too (not super long like their original crossbody). The top handle is very structured and has ample room to slip your hand through to wear the bag on the crook of your arm. Cotton lined too, and easy to get in and out of. Comes in a few other colours, but honestly, you just can’t go wrong. A bag purchase you will not regret.

Quince Mongolian Cashmere Polo Sweater Review

#8 | Quince Mongolian Cashmere Polo Sweater

The final apparel piece I wanted to highlight as being an underrated item from Quince is this chic polo cashmere sweater. This is priced slightly higher than their iconic $50 cashmere crew, though there’s a similarity in the weight of the cashmere and also the amount of fabric.

But some details differ. Like the thick rib trim at the hem and the cuff, and the interesting collar detail. This feels slightly collegiate – almost preppy in a way – though it’s clearly those details that make it feel elevated, and have a sense of refinement. A great update to a classic crew as you have that detail up near the face.

It’s worth noting that the ivory isn’t fully opaque, though there’s no issues with the darker colours, so do keep that in mind as it dictates what you will and won’t feel comfortable wearing underneath.

Fits true to size for a relaxed fit. I’m wearing the size small here.

Wearing size S. Measures 48cm underarm to underarm and is 60cm long.

Quince Featherweight Cashmere Silk Fringe Scarf Review

#9 | Quince Featherweight Cashmere Silk Fringe Scarf

One of those items that you probably would give a second thought, which is exactly why this cashmere silk fringe scarf is so underrated. I like that this is a lightweight scarf option which doubles as a pashmina; something you can drape comfortably over the shoulders at a formal event (or when travelling). It’s lightweight so packs easily in your bag as a “just-in-case” option. The silk/cashmere blend feels incredibly luxurious; so smooth to the touch.

Quince sunglasses review
Quince Lisbon Sunglasses in Olive
Granada Sunglasses in Espresso

#10 | Quince sunglasses

Two of my favourite styles are the Lisbon and the Granada (both pictured above)

The final underrated item from Quince that I just had to mention, are their sunglasses. No specific pair, but the range at large. I never see anyone talking about these; maybe because their clothing range is so extensive (and good) that accessories get a little overlooked, but some of my favourite everyday styles are from the brand.

Each pair is $50 (USD), which feels like a good deal for an acetate pair of sunglasses with polarised sunglasses with UV protection. They don’t feel flimsy or cheap, but rather on pair with my luxury sunglasses which run in the realm of $400+. And at that price, I feel like I don’t have to be quite so precious with these, especially around my kids. Also their range of shapes is excellent too. Another 10 out of 10 that I absolutely recommend checking out (if you haven’t already!).
