You know me, always, always thinking ahead. Case in point, winter has *just* kicked off here in Australia, but I seem to be running on fast-forward as I’m eyeing up spring/summer essentials left, right and centre. And when I added these denim shorts to my wardrobe (pr/gift), they were just too good not to share. So think of this as a little PSA if you’re just dipping your toes into summer now, or have been on the lookout for a good denim short to wear in a few months’ time.

I’m always on the lookout for basics done well. They’re the foundation of an outfit, and you can stretch your outfit options so far when you find a pair thatreally, and I mean really work for you.
On my checklist was: high waist, rigid denim, and a bit of length through the leg. These tick all the boxes. They’re snatched in at the waist, have a flattering a-line silhouette through the leg, and I love that they don’t have any stretch. Not to mention that they feel sturdy thanks to the mid-weight rigid denim. Sizing-wise, I’m between a 25 and 26 in Everlane denim right now, and went with the smaller of the two sizes; they’re the perfect fit.
