If I could use one word to sum up the weather from the past week, it’d be balmy. Hot, sticky, with a constant warm breeze wafting through the house. A nice break from all the wet weather we’ve had of late, and also finally gave me the excuse to properly dust off my stash of denim shorts. I tend to rely on denim as a year round basic; jeans during the cooler months, and an a-line denim short when it’s hot. The difference between the two seasons being the way getting dressed makes me feel. Having the ability to layer leads well to getting creative with your outfits, and adding in serious depth and texture. But I find as soon as it gets above 25 deg C, I will fall back on the simple pairing of a singlet, shorts, and some kind of sandal. This was an exercise in breaking out of that mould. Opting for something other than a racerback tank (which we all know I’ll be living in this summer). Though clearly not straying too far from a chance to have a monochrome moment…
