Could these be the most comfortable shoes, ever? Pretty bold statement, especially coming from someone who has tested out hundreds of pairs of shoes (heels + flats) over the years. But having a wide foot, and a bunion, I know too well the dreaded expectation of a “break-in” period. Something that for years I associated with any new shoe purchase. And it’s what makes the premise behind Ally Shoes so appealing.
About Ally Shoes
Designed hand-in-hand with Podiatric Surgeon Dr. Roxann Clarke – creator of a patent-pending three-point comfort system design – this is a problem that founder Samantha Dong set out find a solution for. And without giving too much away from the get go, I kind of think she nailed it.
So a footwear brand for women, designed by women. And renowned for their signature pain-free heels that offer unparalleled comfort, all day.
The size range is also extensive, ranging from size US 4.5-12 (offering half sizes) in addition to four different widths (narrow, medium, wide, extra wide). A fit finder on the website helps you to identify your perfect fit. Which is as close to custom as possible. And while you’ll find popular colours are available in all sizes, there’s an on-demand or “made to order” approach for the majority of styles. This allows Ally Shoes to be able to cater to such a large range of sizes, and one of the things that I think really sets them apart.

If you work in a corporate setting, then chances are that you’ve hunted high and low for comfortable but timeless court shoes. I’ve tried my fair share over the years, eventually going as far as to keep my heels under my desk in the office so I wouldn’t have to commute in them. And if they were especially uncomfortable? I’d slip them off during a solid session sitting at my desk.
First thing I noticed when I pulled the Ally Shoes Kitten Heels out of the box was the cushioning. You can see the pillowy design of the instep, and I was delighted that these actually felt comfortable when I put them on. The type of heel that you could *literally* run in. The reasonable two-inch heel height – which adds a nice amount of lift – helps with this. If you’re someone who wants a shoe that looks professional and chic, and is also easy to walk in, these tick all the boxes.
I chose these in a size 40.5 wide; this accommodates my wide feet, and was recommended I go up a half size which is the perfect fit. My feet felt cocooned in these shoes when I first put them on, but I noticed that after walking about in them that the leather started to soften up very quickly.
What really blows me away though? That I could wear these shoes all day long, and not have a single blister. My feet aren’t all hot and sore, and I’m not dreading wearing them again (hello common theme in my early twenties!). At this point I’ve tried quite a few pairs of high support heels, and I think that these might just be the best…
Also love that there’s a wide colour range in a mix of classic neutrals and fun pops of colour.

The second Ally Shoes style I wanted to review are their Leather Flats. These have a pointed toe, and a very low stacked heel. The seamed detail across the vamp on the classic adds an interesting touch, especially in the leather/suede mix varieties. There’s also a cap toe style which feels very Parisian-inspired. From a qualitative perspective, the leather feels lovely and soft, and the stitching which is slightly visible is in a clean, straight line. I also have these in a size EU40.5 wide and they’re a perfect fit. Don’t slip off my feet at all but aren’t too snug.
Again here you can clearly see the insole support that these shoes offer. I don’t own any other flats quite like these. The cushioning isn’t spongey, but it’s not overly firm either. It has a fair amount of bounce to it, and I have noticed any degradation to this with wear (yet, anyway!). The interior is a mix of microfibre suede and smooth leather – feels very comforting against a bare foot. But also, gives you some grip if you’re wearing these with a thin sock tight.
My biggest pain point with pointed toe flats is that they will start to pinch a little across the widest part of my foot. And am pleased to report that the Ally Shoes Leather Flats don’t do this. At all. Just like with the heels, they were comfortable from the get go. As someone who loves a pointed toe shoe because they immediately add polish to an outfit, as well as extending the visual line of your legs, I couldn’t be more thrilled. A beautiful and elegant option that can transition from the office to smarter, casual events.

🙂 I am all for kitten heels and flats – because I am tall, I can be self-conscious sometimes when I am in high heels and towering over everyone 🙂
