Clearly, I have a bit of a thing for an embellished shoe. First, it was the Jimmy Choo Bing Mules. Now, it’s the Amina Muaddi Begum Heels. I joke a lot that I’ve got champagne taste on a beer budget, and this is another example of a dazzling pair of shoes that were just a little out of my price range; particularly when taking into account cost-per-wear.

So I was pretty thrilled to find a more practical take on the begum style. These pointed toe flats from J.ING have that spectacular exaggerated sunburst embellishment, and the same wow factor. There’s just a touch of elevation, with a clear gem-shaped block heel.
As per my previous post, I’m living in cosy knits and denim right now, so a fancy flat is the simplest way to jazz up my outfits. I’m still getting a little used to having my full toe cleavage on display, plus it’s probably safe to say a nice pedicure is a must when wearing these shoes. In terms of sizing, I went with my usual size – an EU40 – and they’re the perfect fit. The slingback doesn’t slip off my heel, and there’s plenty of give across the foot to accommodate even my wide feet.
