Arket Mid-Season Sale Picks

Wrapping up the week with a sale edit for one of my current favourite places to shop; Arket. In addition to sharing some items I love the look of, there’s also a peek at a couple of my own sale purchases, plus a style staple I own, that I noticed was discounted as part of the sale. With all sizes still available. The above image is totally shoppable, too, FYI.

Starting from the top left…

Arket black tapered wool trousers | I purchased these a few months ago now, and they’ve been such a welcome addition to my closet. Unlike other “smart” trousers I own, these don’t have a traditional zip fly closure. Or belt loops. Instead, there’s a concealed zipper at the side, nestled behind one of the pockets. This gives the trouser a nice, clean silhouette. And the slightly cropped length through the leg is nice too. Sizing wise these fit smaller than other trousers I’ve bought from Arket, so stick with your usual size. I got mine in an EU36. You can see me wearing them here.

Arket square neck poplin dress | This has been on my wishlist since last summer. Love the mini length, and the loose silhouette seems just breezy enough for a Sydney summer. The square neckline is a draw as well; it adds that touch of modernity to what would otherwise be a simple smock dress.

Arket oversized linen shirt | I’ve made no secret of my love of oversized shirting of late. Sometimes all it takes to reinvigorate your excitement in a “staple” piece, is to try it in a slightly different proportion. I have a similar shirt from COS in black, but I feel like this sandy beige would also be a great, easy to reach for neutral. Especially if your closet is mostly comprised of monochrome tones, and the odd earthy neutral.

Arket square toe leather boots | Boots season is well and truly over, but that doesn’t stop me from doing a little browsing. This particular style from Arket caught my eye when I first spotted them in the new arrivals section. I like the high shaft, complemented by the “Chelsea” effect elasticated panel. And the squared off toe again adds that touch of modernity that I’ve been craving. Plus I get the sense that the low block heel is very walkable.

Arket cotton voile slip dress | Another one of those items that has been on my wishlist for some time now. I almost caved and purchased this late last night, when I spotted it was back in stock. But I was reminded I have many similar already stashed in my closet. That said, if you’ve been after a sleeveless maxi dress, then this is definitely worthy of being a contender. Also comes in classic black, too.

Arket strappy leather sandals | Okay, let’s talk about something I did add to my cart last night. These milky white, croc-embossed leather sandals. I wouldn’t typically go for a shoe this high, but it’s hard to come across a pair of off-white heeled sandals which are really strappy. And don’t break the bank. Things I loved about these sandals? The textured leather; a great point of interest given the minimal colour and general style. The thin leather straps; these kinds of shoes tend to be more flattering on the foot than those with a more severe or thick strap. And finally… the criss-cross detail across the foot; I usually find this gives me quite a bit of support, and is pretty comfortable, despite the bunion on my left foot.

Arket belted lyocell trousers | My other sale purchase was a pair of off-white belted trousers. What I immediately liked about these – aside from the canvas colour – is that they’re made of lyocell. Lyocell is silky to the touch, but sturdy. One of those rare fabrics which feels both luxurious and robust at the same time. Also, the wide belt has a “karate”-ish feel to it, which is kinda kitsch but a detail that I’m indescribably drawn to. And of course there’s that straight fit through the leg. What I’m most excited to try on, when my order arrives. I went with the EU36 if you’re curious.

Arket ruched broderie anglaise blouse | The final Arket sale item I wanted to mention is this lovely cotton broderie anglaise blouse. It bears a striking resemblance to the Marle Ines top (which I have in both ivory and black), but with some subtle details. There’s that same ruched seam across the bust, the voluminous sleeves, and puckered effect at the collar. The difference here being that the Arket version has a feminine broderie anglaise cut-out on the sleeves.
