I don’t think I ever experienced as big a shift in my *style* mindset as when I crossed the line from my twenties into my thirties. While I ascribe to the mantra that you should wear what you want, regardless of your age, to me it signalled a desire to dress slightly sophisticated. Keeping in mind that I work at home, of course. I swapped mini skirts in favour of a more modest mid-thigh hemline, and slowed down on adding whimsical details like ruffles and frills (though I’ll still make the odd exception!). There’s this saying I often use to describe my approach towards my wardrobe: champagne taste on a beer budget. As much as I love luxury fashion (hello NAP and Matches…!), it’s something I can only dip into every once and a while, and even then I usually choose to go pre-loved to make my dollar stretch further. But, you don’t have to have an unlimited budget to look expensive. So I thought I’d share some of my favourite styling tricks that’ll elevate your look, and make your outfit appear more expensive than it actually was. Wearing Lookast cashmere sweater, Mott…
You may have picked up by now that I tend to dress based on a handful of simple styling guidelines. Day-to-day, I want to look effortless, chic, and pulled together in an effortless way. This month’s beauty edit is pretty heavy on makeup; safe to say I went ham on the concealers this past month, all in search of ‘the one’. I don’t often get worked up for a beauty sale, but couldn’t resist when I spotted Priceline were offering 1/2 price off most makeup lines, which was ample temptation for me to stock up on some new (to me) drugstore makeup. The Makeup Edit Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation in ‘2WO’ | I thought we’d kick off the makeup edit by talking about my most recent foundation purchase: the Dior Backstage Face…
As promised , today I’m sharing the winter edition of a month in outfits. Thirty (mild) winter appropriate looks for the month of August. We tend to be pretty fortunate here in Sydney that our winters are short and not *too* cold. Temperatures here average around 17-19 deg C most days, so you can usually get away with baring a little bit of ankle or leg. Like last time, I’ve centred these outfits around five key themes; (winter) denim, midi dresses, blazers, midi skirts, and trousers. For the ease of filming 30 outfits, I went bare-legged for the dress and…
