Sustainability and ethically-produced are two major buzzwords in the fashion world right now; and with good reason. The rampant rise of throwaway and “fast” fashion has meant that there are brands and factories that will cut corners, just to be able to provide a constant stream of clothing that is affordable, but the big question is, at what price? While I’m not perfect by any means, my growing awareness of the pitfalls of the fashion industry have been a driver in my push to shop consciously, sustainably, and ethically where possible, and I talked about the why of this in…
Happy Wednesday! While I tend to wear (and feature) denim pretty frequently on Mademoiselle, it’s not that often that I’ll opt for something this relaxed. But, I wanted to put Everlane’s new stretch denim to the test, and I figured it was best to keep the rest of the outfit fairly simple… you know, so I could bend and stretch. Everlane Cotton Turtleneck (c/o), Everlane Mid Rise Skinny Stretch Denim (c/o), Charlotte Olympia pumps (similar here), Everlane Form bag (c/o), Isabel Marant belt (affordable option here) I’m wearing the Mid-Rise Skinny Stretch Denim in the 25 ‘Ankle’ length (my preferred…
As far as my wardrobe goes, a good pair of white jeans is a definite staple – and surprisingly versatile too. I feel most comfortable in an earthy or monochromatic outfit, and white jeans are a natural go-to for me, especially if I don’t know what to wear. As much as I wishlist and plan out the perceived gaps in my wardrobe at the start of each season, one of the things I look forward to even more so is being able to pull out and fall back on some of those old favourites. I’m a huge believer in taking the time to invest in your wardrobe (and I don’t necessarily mean in just a monetary sense), as it leads to fewer, better, and longer lasting purchases in your wardrobe, assuming your style and preferences remain static, that is. After reading one of Rebecca’s post on the a/w…
Hands down my favourite time of year to dress for, is during those transitional seasons, as we shift from winter to spring, or on the flipside, from summer to autumn. Sydney winters may be milder than most, but that doesn’t stop me longing to bare my legs and stash away some of those oversized winter knits. Experience has taught me that transitional dressing is always short-lived, so I’ll typically use this opportunity to blend my summer and winter wardrobes, which gives me the best of both worlds. Wearing Everlane linen shirt, Dr Denim skinny jeans (similar), H&M check blazer (also…
