MBFWA, day one Suffice to say, one of my favourite things about MBFWA is always the shoes. Monday was all about high heeled strappy sandals or a little bit of comfort, mainly in the form of a low heeled black boot. Now that’s a trend I’m pretty keen to jump right on, and as for the strappy sandals? Could be high time I start looking to invest in a pair – now if only buying a pair of lace up Alaia’s didn’t break the bank…. Shop shoes:
Glassons tank, Dion Lee skirt, Valentino rockstud kitten heels, Mansur Gavriel bucket bag The last week I’ve spent dispproportionately large chunks of time browsing on ASOS, Topshop, Missguided, Everlane and J. Crew, for pretty much nothing in particular. Given how feverishly I’ve been adding to my ‘wishlist’, the thing I found most surprising wasn’t the volume (or a few of the more questionable stores) but the actual items I was gravitating towards. Cornflower blue pinstriped trousers, denim overall dresses fit for a girl at least half my age, body-hugging two pieces which show just a sliver of midriff, and metallic…
Favourites time again; and this month has been a little less heavy on the product side. I’ve been steering clear of bases and skincare while my dermatitis/eczema clears up and sticking mostly to the basics the last four weeks. After a couple of months testing out a few different eyeshadow palettes, I’ve gone back to Urban Decay’s NAKED 2, which has been perfect for a simple everyday look. There’s a reason why so many people own this palette (or 1, or 3…); for one, it’s incredibly pigmented – although there can be a little powder kick up if you’re little…
Acne Studios jensen grained leather boots Item number two that I picked up for the 5PFW Challenge? A pair of black leather boots from Acne Studios. Let’s just say that while I’m still dead set on getting the Velocite shearling jacket (one day…), I needed to be a little more realistic – Sydney doesn’t often go below 11 degrees celsius, and I’ve had a pair of black leather ankle boots on my wishlist for going on two years now. A pretty wise compromise on my part, given that about 90% of my shoe collection is comprised of heeled sandals or…
MBFWA 2015 I’ve still got so much to share with you from MBFWA (even though I only managed to stick around for a good two hours or so), but am hoping to get back into regular ‘programming’ this week. But first, I wanted to share these snaps; for me, it really was all about the mix of textures and those eye-poppingly bright heels. Mixing textures can be difficult enough on its own – particularly where galactic inspired dresses are concerned – so this look really stood out, and with that vibrant shock of colour at the toes, was impossible to…
