Considering that our last overseas holiday is more than two years behind us (time really does fly, doesn’t it? – pun intended), I’ve spent the last six months furiously planning where we might go next. And with so many friends jet setting to the other side of the world, I haven’t been short on inspiration. But what really inspired me wasn’t the beautiful European landscapes, or the fast paced escapades of New York, but instead, Michelle’s two week jaunt to Japan, onsens, dumplings and all. With all of life’s twists and turns, we don’t have dates locked in just yet,…
T by Alexander Wang stripe top, J Brand white skinny jeans (cheaper alternative here), Country Road grandpa cardigan (similar), Valentino rockstud kitten heels, Cuyana tote bag (similar option here) You can’t ever truly escape the wind in Wellington. Even on the calmest of days, you only need to be within 10 metres of the water’s edge before the wind starts to pick up. It’s not called the ‘windy city’ for nothing, you know. Get the look:
So I’ve landed in Wellington, which as to be expected, was all smooth sailing until the moments before landing; never a city to land in for the faint at heart on a truly windy day, that’s for sure. I’ve spent the day re-acquainting myself with the neighbourhood, and returned home well-fed from an afternoon spent at my Yiayia’s – and a morning spent snacking on Whittaker’s hundreds & thousands chocolate – both *almost* reason enough to warrant a trip home (notwithstanding the real purpose – to visit family, of course!). With my week already filling up with long coffee catch…
Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be jetting across the Tasman for a short trip home, with nothing but spending time with my family, catching up with old friends, and exploring Wellington with a fresh set of eyes in mind. Given that I’ll only be away for 9 days, and the last thing I really want to be doing is rummaging through my suitcase for that pair of jeans I was so certain I’d packed, I’m planning on packing on the lighter side of things. Spring time in Wellington is generally still pretty crisp, so I’ll be packing away a few jackets, cosy…
