Leroy Nguyen ‘Blue Rose’ Spring/Summer 2014/15 Sports luxe undertones accompanied vivid floral prints, directional inserts, and uneven hemlines at the runway show of Leroy Nguyen’s ‘Blue Rose’ S/S 14 collection. Crocodile prints were a running theme, reincarnated through subtle embossing and a strikingly bold oceanic print. Underlying references to the deep blue, and a brilliant rose floral were prominent throughout; an emphasis on clean lines, exclusive prints, with punchy pops of colour undercutting a stark white palette. And with any Fashion Week, it’s always the higher the better. But for those not that way inclined, there’s never any shortage of cheeky printed clutches, tone on tone, or the simplicity of a well cut blazer paired just so.
Equipment sleeveless blouse, Sportsgirl linen top (similar), Karen Walker skirt, Yvonne Kone heels (similar), Proenza Schouler PS11, J Crew necklace Long weekends spent doing little else aside from gorging on spiced hot cross buns and melt in your mouth chocolate call for elasticated waistbands and loose linen tees. I’ve definitely fallen off the proverbial wagon, with my meals consisting of more sugar than substance as of late – all the more reason to get off the couch and back on the pavement. The beautiful weather we were treated to over the long weekend proved to be the motivation I needed,…
