J Crew sweater, Lululemon Lab skirt, Topshop heels, Mimco necklace, Proenza Schouler PS11 With the wind and the rain constantly lingering over Wellington, I couldn’t be more thrilled that my move to warmer shores is less than seven days away. One thing I will undeniably miss, will be the those spontaneous walks with almost constant seaside views, which even under the haze of rain soaked skies, has a raw unfinished beauty unlike anything else I’ve known. Softening the blow of this less than stellar weather, was the arrival of a few pieces from Lululemon’s Lab collection. An extension of Lululemon,…
img source I’ve been heavily anticipating the release of Heinui’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection, entitled Paper Moon, after stumbling across images a few months back. A capsule collection by most designer’s standards, it proves that quality outweighs quantity, every single time. Overtly feminine, with nipped in waists, full skirts, and slinky shirt dresses, it’s a collection that is after my own heart. It’s an effortless transition to Summer from designer Claire Pignot’s Fall collection, which continues to see her love of denim translated into easy-to-wear rompers and dresses, and the continuation of beautifully hand printed cottons and silks. My personal favourite?…
Alice McCall idocrase top (I also love this one!), girl. by Band of Outsiders skirt (similar style), RUBY kingsley flats, Karen Walker earrings, Kate of Arcadia clutch (similar) I’m not sure if it’s the freshness of a new year, or the long-standing feelings that my wardrobe has been in somewhat of a rut the past six months, but I’ve resolved that 2014 is the year that I bring a bit of colour back into my outfits. Starting small with a oceanic beaded silk tank and some cotton candy pink bow flats to an otherwise blank canvas. I’m looking forward to…
ASOS crop top, Vivian Chan rosie skort, Topshop court shoes, Celine trio Twenty-six, or as my sister puts it, old; the wrong side of my twenties, even. But the way I see it, it’s another day, and another year older, quietly slipping by like every other. Keeping it relatively low-key with a late lunch at Olive, afternoon tea and cake at my grandparents, and soaking up the final remnants of sunshine in the early evening at Scorching Bay beach; simplicity at its best. I couldn’t help but wear this flamboyant cotton candy skirt from Vivian Chan, because what better excuse…
Karen Walker dress (similar style), Country Road shirt (similar), Vintage chelsea boots, Proenza Schouler PS11 satchel I never thought I’d be wearing tights so early into the new year, but alas, such is life living in Wellington. At any rate, it gives me an excuse to get a bit more wear out of this ‘jerkin’ dress I snapped up on sale from Maximillia. Comments from Luke about my resemblance to Japanese schoolgirls aside, it feels like a not so cutesy foray into the world of dungaree style dresses. So good, in fact, that I couldn’t resist buying multiples, the second…
