Lover daisy chain shell dress (similar), Acne shore sweater, Opening Ceremony floral loafers, Proenza Schouler PS11 satchel, J Crew earrings Whenever I come across one of those pieces, which in almost every sense, is perfect, I find myself rather quickly stockpiling multiples. It’s like winter came early, and I’m a squirrel scrambling to collect and stash as many acorns as I can possibly find, and usually with success. It’s even better when it’s multifunctional, like this Acne sweater. Rather than wear it the intended way, I prefer to throw it on backwards, leaving the zip open like an oversized knit…
Kate Sylvester ‘jean’ bodice, RUBY ‘bedrock’ skirt, Acne cardigan, Marni heels, Proenza Schouler PS11 satchel Is it completely terrible to feel all fashioned out? With the addition of Fashion in the Capital to the events calendar, preceded by New Zealand Fashion Week; not withstanding the deluge of NYFW and LFW posts which have taken over my Instagram, Bloglovin’ and Twitter feeds, I almost feel like I’m ready to take a small vacation to a remote island, completely devoid of technology, and where dress codes involve little more than a bikini and beach cover-up. I’ve promptly changed my heels for flats,…
Karen Walker slanting frill top, RUBY charlie animal jeans, Karen Walker ‘docker’ coat, Topshop heels, Karen Walker ring, Cuyana tote bag (similar) Day three of NZFW, and also the final day of the trade-dominated part of the week. The rain finally seems to be easing off, and a quieter Thursday schedule means more to time collect thoughts, process things I’ve seen, and tonight, catch up on some much-needed sleep. Being Wellington-based, wearing all black is probably as predictable as getting a good coffee in the city (read: virtually always going to happen), so it really was just a matter of…
Solo cashmere top (similar), Karen Walker skirt (similar), Karen Walker ‘docker’ coat, Marni two-tone heels, H&M necklace You wouldn’t know it from these photo’s, but it absolutely poured down with rain today. And I mean poured. Which just so happened to be the best and worst possible time to find out that your shoes are waterproof, making that additional pair of loafers I had lugged around all morning pretty dead weight on my shoulder. With all the cream, beige, and blush-toned pieces I managed to pack in my suitcase, you’d be right if you guessed that I couldn’t be more…
When I received the invitation for the ‘Underground’ installation, I was more than a little excited. Presented by Ciel PR and AlwaysSometimesAnytime, the installation combined ten designers (Blue Blank, Eugenie, Jimmy D, Kowtow, Thistle Brown, Jessica Grubisa, Maaike, Miss Crabb, Otsu, Underground Sundae) and ten photographers (Adam Custins, Alexander Schipper, Dan Betham, Frances Carter, Karen Inderbitzen-Waller, Lea Mackillop, Lula Chucchiara, Mara Sommer, Natasha Cantwell, Oliver Rose) to create a result which really pushed the boundaries. Each model embodied a certain persona, some dark, gloomy or solemn, while others were playful in their demeanour. I know they say a picture is…
