Only stripe dress, T by Alexander Wang cardigan, Isabel Marant dicker boots, Proenza Schouler PS11 bag, Adia Kibur necklace It’s the weekend before Fashion Week, that one last calm before the storm hits and you find yourself completely rushed off your feet. Not that I’m complaining of course, there’s nothing like a little adrenaline (or coffee) to keep you going when you’d otherwise rather be curled up on a plush couch watching your favourite TV series (Homeland for those wondering). We took these photo’s a few weeks back on one of those uncharacteristically warm winter days, which rather predictably happened…
Sometimes, when I’m searching for a pair of shoes, I feel a little like Prince Charming must have felt as he searched out Cinderella with her dainty glass slipper. Nothing seems quite right, and the pair that I forever seem to be looking for is all elusive. For me, it’s the hunt for the perfect pair of black heels. A bit of height, a slightly pointed toe, and a patent or suede finish isn’t a lot to ask for, but it seems surprisingly difficult to find a serious contender. While I tend to turn to designer shoes for most of…
Topshop wide collar pea coat I know how difficult it can be to find a coat for winter, so when I come across a style I like, I’m pretty quick to add it to my wardrobe, within reason of course. Considering how few coats I actually own, you can imagine that this doesn’t happen very often. I missed out on that coat from Isabel Marant’s Etoile line some years…
With less than a week until New Zealand Fashion Week kicks off, I’m starting to find myself thinking a lot about all the small errands I need to get done by Monday. Things like changing my flights, picking up drycleaning, picking up shoes from the cobbler, picking up laybys, and finally getting around to packing my bag. The latter seems the most daunting, as there’s something so final about travelling with such a finite number of items in your suitcase. For those of you who aren’t aware, the week is split into two parts, New Zealand Fashion Week and New…
I’ve never been one of those girls who manages to accumulate drawers and drawers of beauty products, always opting for the most minimal approach possible. There’s something satisfying in knowing that your make-up routine takes less than five minutes to apply, and can easily be cut down to the basics of bronzer and mascara when time is too tight. For Spring, I like to dial it down a notch, and this year I envision myself playing up the lips a little with just a slick of mascara on my lashes. I’ll be keeping my nails fairly subtle, with a few…
