I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a hidden agenda when I left home early this morning to head into the city. Spending the latter part of the week, excitedly looking forward to the release of RUBY’s capsule collection ‘An Education’, I found myself glancing back at the lookbook images, in the same frenzied way a child will hover over their presents in anticipation of Christmas morning. Inspired by the 60s, the collection is subtle nod to the ‘mod’ look of that era, but with updated prints like the plaid check, black embossed croc, and minnie mouse…
KJ by Kirrily Johnston dress, Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, Kate of Arcadia leather clutch (similar), Karen Walker & SGC rings Over the last couple of years, I’ve always made a point of wearing colour at weddings to celebrate the occasion, rather than wear black, which seems so unfitting given the nature of the day. It’s a given that there are exceptions, like when you find out virtually the night before you leave that the wedding in question calls for flat shoes, rather than heels. Faced with this dilemma, the simplest option seemed to choose an alternate dress, which just so…
Equipment silk blouses in navy & black, Ralph Lauren cashmere pullover, Helmut Lang leather leggings, J Brand skinny jeans, Joseph sweater, Topshop jumper, See by Chloe boots In a city that usually doesn’t experience such a wonderful summer, winter has been a long time coming, and perhaps due to the warmer than usual temperatures, I’ve found myself thinking more than once or twice of layering up against the biting cold. I’m finding myself increasingly drawn to a clean and minimal aesthetic, perhaps even tomboyish in a sense, like silk blouses worn under chunky sweaters with skinny jeans and ankle boots.…
This past weekend I was lucky enough to be able to borrow some of my favourite pieces from RUBY’s current collection, entitled Mr Destiny, to shoot for the blog (Thank you Anna-lise and Tomoko!). Somehow I managed to quickly whittle away more than an hour agonising over which pieces I loved the most, and it’s not hard to see why. The entire collection is youthful, playful and ultra-feminine, boasting more than just a few pastels and saccharine looking prints, and of course my all-time favourites, leopard print and stripes. Alexander Wang singlet, RUBY ‘cupid’ trousers, RUBY ‘pretty thing’ purse, Valentino…
Karen Walker leopard dress & bunny bracelet, Acne cardigan, Renatta Jop loafers, Country Rd belt Following on from a string of hip-related aches and pains, of late I have found little pleasure in heading out for a run, scenic or otherwise. Having previously participated in Muay Thai kickboxing classes for a time, I was inspired by the ever-stylish Michelle, and this past week I found myself feeling inclined to take up boxing. A choice, that I must say, is one of the better decisions that I have made of late. While I’m currently nursing sore muscles, the workout itself has…
