Celebrating turning another year older in this dream of a dress. A purchase I made in the last few months of 2021, as I tried to seek out a more budget-friendly alternative to this dress. Safe to say, I found it, and for someone who often falls back on white or black dresses, it’s a nice switch up with the check print. One I’ll be wearing casually in the winter with a black merino underneath, stockings and sock boots. Worn here in a UK8; and if you were looking for something similar for your closet, it’s worth mentioning that it’s…
One of the items that’ll forever be part of my summer wardrobe (in some form or another)? The white sun dress. Mini, maxi, fitted, full and tiered with cut outs. I am here for it. Wearing MLM Label dress; Dune sandals; Oroton bag; Linjer serendipity earrings Even when it’s exceptionally warm, it’s this kind of “one and done” outfit that I gravitate towards; easy dressing being top of the priority list most mornings. This particular dress is from MLM Label, and it has lots of details I love. The cut out at the back for ventilation (a must in Sydney),…
In the middle of last year, I filmed a winter capsule lookbook, comprised of my most reached for pieces of the season. For me, each of the items I included represented a core staple that I find myself relying on when the weather is cold (thermals notwithstanding). I loved these outfits so much, that I wanted to share these looks once again, for my Northern Hemisphere friends. Instead of the 20+ minute video I’d originally filmed, I cut it down to under 3 minutes, focusing on several key themes. It probably goes without saying, but these are all outfits tailored…
Instead of wrapping up the week with a “weekly wishlist”, I thought I’d share this recent outfit that I posted on my Instagram. I’ve made little secret of my newfound appreciation for more relaxed silhouettes, and this completely goes against the grain of that. So much of how I build an outfit right now has been focused around creating balance. Mixing proportions is my preferred way of doing this, as I also favour more of a muted colour palette. Yet despite not having the fundamental proportional components my eye is drawn to, I absolutely love this outfit. Wearing Everlane cutaway…
For final recap of 2021, I wanted to chat through my most worn items. Based on actual data, I’ve recorded that these items are what I found myself reaching for the most over the last 12 months. Personally, I find these retrospectives fascinating. A way to keep track of which pieces are core to my personal style and daily outfit uniforms. If you’re curious how I keep track, I have a spreadsheet I’ve been maintaining for a few years now. It’s a repeat of a habit I started age 20, as I set to reach a minimum of 30 wears…
