Happy Friday everyone! Today I’m sharing another autumnal outfit – one I actually wore about a month ago but am only just getting around to sharing now. It features a few of my current wardrobe favourites. A lightweight blouse (which was perfect at the start of the season); a leopard-printed mini; and a pair of low block heeled slingback shoes.

Wearing Everlane ruched blouse; Karen Walker leopard mini skirt (old but similar here and also here); Everlane editor slingbacks; Workshop utility jacket (old but similar available here or here); Chanel vintage classic flap; Thomas Sabo earrings; Missoma marina bracelet; Boden bracelet

Let’s run through the outfit, starting with the blouse. I was  particularly drawn to this style as the neckline is slightly adjustable (creating more of that ruched detail), and the sleeves are 3/4 length with a puffed quality to them. It’s elements like these that really define an elevated basic, and help keep simple style like this feeling interesting.

I don’t tend to wear prints often, but it’s something I’m trying to incorporate more into my wardrobe for 2020. As much as I love my basics, it can start to feel a little same-same. Especially when you tend to focus outfits around simple uniform-style combinations.

The little leopard print mini was a pre-loved find, spurred on by my friend Niquita. I’d seen her wearing this skirt when we went to an estate auction last year, and could instantly see how it’d fit into my own wardrobe. After spotting one for sale, she sent me the link and I couldn’t click “buy now” fast enough.

I like that the skirt has an a-line silhouette, and there’s a subtle metallic thread that runs throughout the fabric. It leans quite warm, with more of an orange than a brown hue to it. Because it’s such a statement in of itself, I’ve been wearing it with neutrals; whites, blacks and greys.

My accessories are matching – a simple style rule (that I often break!). Black is always a go to as it works with everything. The slingback heels are probably the most worn piece of this outfit. I’ve found the low block heel make them very walkable, and the style is undeniably classic. Plus, they seem to go with everything in my wardrobe. Sizing wise, I went with my usual Everlane shoe size (US9.5) and do find they’re still snug at the heel despite having worn then around 8 times so far. So I’d say, consider going up a half size if you do go for these. I feel pretty confident the elastic will give some, but it’s a process of wearing them in, in the meantime.

To finish off the outfit (it was cool in the shade!), I opted for a khaki jacket. I’ve had this for three years now, and I love the utilitarian style. It’s sold out now, but this is a similar option. I wouldn’t normally mix cool and warm tones, but I found in this instance, the combo seems to work.
