I recently shared a video where I chatted through the 2022 trends that I am loving, and the one I forgot to include? Any outfit that gives me coastal grandmother vibes. These two recent outfits, both lean heavily into that trend… even if I live a good 15 minute drive to the nearest beach. And despite it being early winter here in Sydney, I’m finding most days it’s still warm enough to get away with a maxi length dress with a cosy knit. Clearly, I’m taking full advantage.
Probably one of the things that has me drawn to the trend – sartorially speaking, that is – is that it not only feels effortless, but it actually is. Easy linen and cotton separates paired with soft fuzzy textures. Loose silhouettes. Styling that’s a little undone. Unfussy. Relaxed.
These two outfits feature some new in favourites from Jenni Kayne (PR). I do have a discount code – JamieLee15 – which will get you a cheeky 15% off sitewide. For sizing reference, I’m wearing all pieces in an S and I am a true AU8. I do find that their silhouettes tend to be on the more relaxed end of the spectrum. I could easily go down to an XS for both dresses, but don’t mind having a bit of extra ease around the bust and hip. That said, I would recommend sizing down if you’re petite.
