Wearing Joseph sweater, Dr Denim skinny jeans (old but similar here and also here), Edgii grey coat, Linjer watch
01 | Wrap coats
There’s no hiding the fact that I’ve fully embraced the wrap coat for winter 2019. I’ve talked about this numerous times, but Sydney winters are pretty mild. More often than not, I’ll wear my coat open, and I love the relaxed nature of this style of coat. They reflect that Scandinavian style aesthetic which has been present in a lot of my outfit choices lately. You may have spotted the one I’m wearing above yesterday – it’s from Edgii – and there are a couple of others I’ve got tucked away in my closet that have been on regular rotation on cold days. For me, these are the perfect layering piece. The relaxed style is an ideal option for layering over bulkier sweaters, and the longer hemlines make it feel like I’m wearing a very chic blanket.
02 | ‘Billions’ on Stan
I feel like I’m still experiencing withdrawal symptoms after wrapping up the fourth season of Billions on Stan. I got into this series when the pilot season originally launched a few years back, and had been trying to convince Luke to watch it with me ever since (side note: he now loves it as much as I do). Billions has a frenetic energy and fast pace unlike anything else I’ve watched recently, and despite being a little ‘out there’, it’s very slick and it’s filled with unexpected plot twists.
03 | Cashmere sweaters
My winter style uniform doesn’t vary much from day to day. Loose knit sweater, jeans or trousers (mostly), and a cute pair of shoes. Being such a casual outfit combination, it’s the textures and details that really help to elevate the look. I’m a little spoilt for choice when it comes to cashmere, but there are two sweaters that have risen to the top to quickly become my favourites; this crew-neck rib sweater from Everlane, and this basic cashmere crew from Mott & Bow.
04 | My Cuyana leather tote bag
I swap out my bags pretty regularly, but I keep finding myself coming back to this tote from Cuyana. It’s little surprise that this is a favourite of mine; the style is classic, the bag itself well-constructed, and it’s just so easy to reach for. I’ve done a little bit of travelling recently and I find a good tote like this is always a safe bet to take as my handbag on the plane, as it’ll fit all the essentials and then some. Aside from some barely there creasing near the base, it still looks like new to me. A no brainer if you’ve been on the hunt for a simple tote bag for every day. If you need any more convincing, I’ve done a pretty in-depth review on the bag which you can read here.
05 | Dior slingback flats
Over the years, I’ve found the best wardrobe ‘investments’ I’ve made were the items which had serious staying power on my wish list. Pretty much anything I’d been eyeing up for 12 months or more. These shoes from Dior which I bought as part of my autumn wardrobe definitely fit in that category – it took me over two years to finally splurge on a pair! I’ve been finding almost any excuse to wear these; despite the touch of ‘logo-mania’ on the strap, they’re incredibly classic and work with so many of my outfits. I managed to snag mine in excellent condition pre-loved netting me a decent discount, but I have since spotted this pair in full black leather which I think are an excellent dupe if you love the style but don’t love the designer price tag.
