Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to start off by saying that I still can’t believe how quickly this year has flown by. December starts tomorrow, which in my eyes, is officially the start of the festive season. I’m doing Vlogmas this year over on my YouTube channel, which I’m really excited about, as it’ll give me an opportunity to share a little bit of what Christmas is like for those of us Down Under.

I’m about six months late (given we’re headed into summer), but I’ve currently got my eye on these suede sock boots from Aquatalia. Plus, they’re on sale. Because I’m making an effort to reduce impulse buys, I’m letting them linger in my wishlist a little while longer before I finally decide to pull the trigger (or not).
I’ve talked a bit about where I like to spend and where I like to save when it comes to my wardrobe, and while I think it’s all relative (you can buy good quality at almost any price), I thought that this was a pretty interesting experiment where luxury basics were pitted against their budget counterparts.
What is self-care, anyway? Loved reading the perspectives from five different women on what this thrown-about term means to them.
This is a pretty old article, but it’s a sage reminder of some of the simple steps we can take to shop more sustainably.
Did you ever jump on the bandwagon of trying products from The Ordinary? Well, I did, some time ago, and wrote about my experience here. What’s fascinating is that the popularity of single-ingredient skincare products has continued to rise, and it can be a great way to create a uniquely tailored skincare routine which suits your personal needs.
It’s been unseasonably cold here in Sydney… So much so, that I’ve found myself reaching for snuggly knit sweaters over cotton tees. I’ve been wanting to share a full download of my thoughts on Everlane’s alpaca sweater and finally got around to writing up a full review which you can read HERE.
If there’s one colour I absolutely love as a major statement maker, it’s the colour red. Which means it’s probably little surprise that I currently have so much appreciation for this gorgeous Valentino Pre-Fall collection.
I’d heard rumours of about this a few months ago so I’m excited to see that Margaret Atwood has confirmed that she’ll be writing a sequel to The Handmaids Tale. I devoured the TV adaptation (seasons 1 and 2), and loved the book, so will be waiting with anticipation to see how she continues the story in her own words when it’s released in September next year.
Most of my Black Friday sale purchases have now arrived, and I wanted to share a quick update on the biggest ticket item I purchased: the All Saints Balfern Leather Jacket. I’ve had this on my wishlist for at least six months I feel, as a more affordable (and hopefully more fitted) alternative to the Acne Studios leather jacket I used to own. First impressions? The quality of the leather is beautiful, further reinforcing my belief that you don’t need to spend designer prices to get the same kind of quality, though it does fit a little snug under the arms. I went with a UK8 which is my usual size, and it’s perfect everywhere else. I get the feeling that the leather is going to relax pretty quickly so I’m not too concerned, however it isn’t the kind of jacket I’ll be layering over thick winter knits. If you’ve had your eye on this jacket and want to pair it with chunky jumpers, then I’d recommend sizing up.
Jamie-Lee,
I have those Aquatalia boots! They are fabulously gorgeous, also super hard wearing and waterproof. I know you have a lot of shoes, but if you’re looking for something that is deceptively hardwearing, I highly recommend! Can’t wait to see how you style the All Saints leather jacket. I decided to hold off this year, if I’m still thinking about it next Black Friday, I’m totally snapping it up!

Hey Nadia 🙂
Oh do you?! That’s amazing. I’ve been eying them up for a while. I like the Stuart Weitzman ones which are similar, but these looked like they would be much more practical for me and I liked that they are weatherproof. Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. I head it’s best to go up a half size (I’m an EU40/US9 so would get the US9.5) and last I checked there was one left in my size… I’m planning to wait out the weekend and see if they’re still available then. I probably won’t get much opportunity to style up the All Saints leather jacket this side of Christmas, but it’s definitely something I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of so I’m very pleased I decided to bite the bullet on it. I love your approach to sitting on it for a while. It’s the best way to make sure you’re not making an impulsive purchase! 😀
