It’s the home stretch ’til Christmas now, and I’m somewhat still in a state of disbelief that 2018 is almost at a close. It’s been a pretty huge year for me both professionally and personally. Perhaps at the top of that list has to be earlier this year, when Luke and I bought our first home (which we’ve already begun renovating), and when I finally decided to take the plunge and go freelance. Two huge milestones and ones I feel immensely proud of. What we have to look forward to in the weeks ahead? Christmas, New Years, and the start of 2019 spent with our families – safe to say there’s nothing better this time of year.
Wearing black scoop neck body suit, Topshop polka dot skirt (old but this is a dead ringer and I also love this similar option), Everlane day heels, Linjer cross body bag, Linjer petite watch, Pandora earrings & necklace
So I thought I’d share my final Friday Finds of the year. I’d love to get your feedback on whether you’ve been enjoying this fortnightly wrap up, and what you’d like to see me change for 2019 – whether that be less of one thing or more of something else. With that being said, let’s dive into it.
One of the items on my summer wishlist was a pair of the Nu Pieds sandals from Saint Laurent, which I have to admit, are achingly out of my price range at the moment, plus I’ve heard that they’re a nightmare to break in. So, you can imagine that I was pretty chuffed to find this pretty spot on dupe for a fraction of the price. I decided to pull the trigger on these this week so will let you know how I get on with them!
If you’ve watched any film in the last couple of years regarding fast fashion and the garment industry, then you’ve probably heard the statistic that fashion is the second biggest polluter after oil. While there’s no denying that fast fashion has had catastrophic consequences on the environment, as it turns out, this is the biggest fake news in fashion.
Earlier this month, Chanel announced that they would halt the use of exotic skins and fur in collections moving forward.
Pantone’s colour of the year for 2019 is ‘Living Coral’. While I won’t be rushing to add anything to my wardrobe in this hue, I do love a bright and punchy coral lip!
I think it’s always great to see retailers making huge efforts to shift towards a more sustainable model – particularly fast fashion brands. To coincide with their latest Made in Kenya collection, ASOS has collaborated with the SOKO Community Trust in Kenya to launch The Kujuwa Initiative, which will provide women in the Kasigua region with reusable sanitary pads made from leftover fabric.
I wouldn’t consider myself a ‘grinch’ (in fact, I love being able to give at this time of year), but am I the only one who always felt that doing Secret Santa was such a chore?
I have more red lipsticks I need, but if I was in search of another, I’d probably be looking to add this one to my beauty stash. I mean, how stunning is that packaging?
