As far as my wardrobe goes, a good pair of white jeans is a definite staple – and surprisingly versatile too. I feel most comfortable in an earthy or monochromatic outfit, and white jeans are a natural go-to for me, especially if I don’t know what to wear.

But, wearing white jeans can be a bit of a minefield – I’m sure I’m not the only one who has put a pair on, only to find they’ve splashed themselves with coffee an hour later. And, despite matching with absolutely everything, if the fit is all wrong, they can be incredibly unforgiving. So, I wanted to share some of my tips and tricks for styling white denim, in addition to sixteen different outfit ideas via the video below.
Show off your ankles
A huge part of how I get dressed is focused on emphasising my best features – and when it comes to my legs, I want to make them look leaner and longer (because #legsfordays). Baring a little bit of ankle, whether it’s because your jeans are slightly cropped or because you’ve cuffed them slightly, has the effect of highlighting the narrowest part of your leg. This is especially impactful if you’re wearing a boyfriend or straight leg jean.
Tuck in your shirt
This is a style tip that I like to use most days, because it defines the waist, and makes an outfit look more polished. White denim can ‘squash’ your body slightly, so I use this visual trick to create to draw attention to my waist.
Opt for a mid or high-rise
Aside from the fact that I don’t think a low rise jean is particularly flattering, a mid or a high rise is going to add length to your torso and nip in at a narrow part of your waist. Combining the denim style with my previous tip, will effortlessly balance the proportions of your outfit.
Go monochrome
My final tip for wearing white jeans is to go for a monochromatic outfit. This is such an effortless way to pull off a simple yet chic outfit, with maximum impact.
