It doesn’t take much

Karen Walker shirt & sunglasses, T by Alexander Wang jumper, Sretsis skirt, Givenchy heels (similar), Meadowlark ring, Marc by Marc Jacobs earrings

While I can’t refute the power an accessory can lend an outfit, sometimes the clothing speaks for itself, requiring the addition of little else. Unexpected coloured collars peeking over cozy jumpers and graphic prints are the sorts of details that I find relinquish the need for much else. Once again, I appear to be doubling up on items in my wardrobe, but this T by Alexander Wang jumper in the grey was too good to resist. And then there’s no chance of the other one getting lonely…

Great outfit! Adore the skirt, collar and jumper. Perfect with bare legs and little heels too. Now, please share – what did you end up purchasing from Sea Monsters? P.S. I had a baby girl!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is soooo cool! What did you end up naming her? are you back at home now?

From Sea Monsters I got: the scarlet waist tie trousers, the navy silk ‘sea foam’ blouse, shorty skirt in the black/gold jacquard (planning on getting this in the cream/gold too), the red frill collar waist tie dress, cream peplum sleeve v-neck top, and one of the short sleeve peplum dresses – currently have the blue chain/sea print on layby but I really like the navy paisley so maybe I’ll switch it when it comes in. There’s a couple other things I want to get but I’ve mostly picked up everything now! 🙂

Yes home from hospital with little Amity, and she is keeping me busy!!! Ooh that sounds nice. I love the look of the navy sea foam blouse. I was thinking of buying it, but thought I should stay away from delicate silk for now. LOVE the peplum dress in the blue sea/ chain print, I would stick with that. The navy paisley is lovely too but not as unique… so if you haven’t got anything in the sea/chain print I vote you go for that. I’m thinking of maybe getting something in the whale print, e.g. Sailor’s top or Ariel dress. And the navy paisley boat pants and maybe the collared shirt in the blue chain/ sea print. How did you find the voile fabric?

Amity, that’s a cute name! Have you picked it up quite easily?

Haha yes, I would recommend you stay away from that blouse, I didn’t realise it when buying but it gets water marks.. I changed my layby for the cream one to the peplum dress instead 🙂 I’m waiting to see what the other one is like, I think it’ll be a much thicker fabric. Just laybyed the taffeta single ruffle skirt in the gold cream as well. Which fabric do you mean?

Liking the sound of what you’re planning on getting, the whale print is really cute! The contrast blouses are really nice too, saw a couple of those when I was in store yesterday

Yes I think I’m getting the hang of it. Each day there are frustrating moments, but plenty of content moments too. She is so little and cute.

The fabric I mean is the chain/ sea print but in the cotton rather than silk. You’re so lucky to get to see and try on such a variety of pieces! Did you think the whale print was cuter in the red or cream? Or the blue sweat shirting?

Glad to hear you’re getting the hang of it. I’m such as a teacher you are a natural!

As for the fabric, the red whale voile is much cuter than the cream/orange and I doubt stains would show up too easily. I didn’t think it was too delicate. The blue whale sweatshirting fabric is really thick – not really the type of thing I wear but as a new mum, would be easy to look after and clean (the sleeveless style with the ruffle at the waist is super cute). Quite fitted from memory compared to other styles!

That is such an interesting combination.. I would have never thought of putting them together and they work so well.
