Charlotte Olympia velvet kitty flats
It’s always a good sign when more than two years on, you’re still reaching for the same pieces every morning. The old blazer which has barely aged a day, the slightly tarnished fine silver ring, and the well worn in pair of shoes – novelty, frills and all.
These Charlotte Olympia kitty flats may seem a frivolous purchase to some (especially considering the appalling exchange rate at the time), yet they’ve proven to be the perfect alternative to a simple black ballet flat, albeit a little more high maintenance. Given my preoccupation with wearing heels on an almost daily basis, it’s comforting to know that at the end of the week I can slip my feet into something familiar, something well-travelled, something that feels like home. It’s a little off-beat, a little luxe, and a little unexpected; just the way I like it.

Hehe, just like me and my mouse flats by MJ! They’re so crazy that they’re basic 😉

I love that you’re posting about something you have and love – a refreshing change from the internet’s constant new new new!! These shoes are definitely a modern classic, much like the rockstuds perhaps in that they’re not boring or simple at all but crazily seem to match everything?! Haha can totally imagine them with skinny jeans and that big roll neck from your previous post!

Hey Steph – ah I totally hear you! Considering I prefer to try and purchase quality over quantity, it’s good that even those most whimsical of shoes have latest me years (even if they’re looking a little well-worn). I’m planning on doing a few more posts like this, I have so many old favourites. And have to say, these are my favourite pair of shoes to wear with jeans, they slightly pointed yet rounded toe is so flattering! xx
Very nice shoes!! Very cute!
