My Net-a-Porter sale picks

My virtual ears always prick up whenever I hear that Net-a-Porter’s bi-annual sale has begun; partly for the nostalgia of buying my first few ‘designer’ items from there in my early twenties, and also in part because it’s a great opportunity to pick up those wardrobe staples at a discounted price. I’ve been doing pretty well at sticking to the rules of the 5PFW Challenge, but I couldn’t help but have a quick peek through some of my favourite designers.

At this stage, I’m not planning on buying anything, but I do enjoy a good window shop, and I thought it would be fun to share some of my favourite picks from the sale.

UNDER $200

Standouts for me include this beautiful ruffle wrap style top from Rixo, which I think would work perfectly for the transitional season as well as a summer vacation piece. I also really love the look of these white skinny jeans from Madewell; I’m still on the hunt for my perfect pair and the exposed buttons are a great detail. Finally, you can’t go wrong with a good basic. Dion Lee is one of my favourite Aussie designers, and I thought that this ribbed camisole looked like a great classic style that you could mix and match with your entire wardrobe.

$200-$500

It was definitely within the $200-500 (AUD) price bracket that I spotted some of the best finds.I’d mentioned in my 5PFW Wishlist video that I’d been thinking about buying this top from Toteme, and I was surprised to spot it in the sale. I’ve got one more ‘autumn’ purchase left and have been finding it really hard to commit, but I do think it makes a great statement. Shoes-wise, I really adore these strappy mule sandals from ATP Atelier. I bought a pair of their sandals last year which I’ve really enjoyed wearing, and the quality has held up so far (though they do lack arch support!).

My other two favourite finds within this price bracket include this leather skirt from Ganni. The wrap-style design feels really streamlined and minimal, and I think the colour is a great neutral option. And then there’s this dress from Jacquemus. I’ve spotted this just about everywhere over the last few weeks. There’s a nice contrast of masculine tailoring paired with a sexy femininity, that I think makes this a total winner. I have a feeling if I were to splurge on one piece, this would probably be it – I’d just need an occasion to wear it…

$500 AND UP

Finally, I wanted to share some spendy picks from the Net-a-Porter sale. I’ve mentioned a few times that I’d like to look at investing in a new designer bag this year, and a couple on my (very loosely guided) list seem to have made it into the sale. The Chloe Roy Bucket Bag I think is a great option if you want something more relaxed, and there’s a few different sizes to choose from. I’m pretty sure that this comes in under the $1500 mark which is pretty good for a designer bag. The other one I’ve been looking at is the Bellechase Bag from Saint Laurent. This is much more structured and has that gold contrast hardware which really pops against the mock croc leather (another favourite of mine this season). Clothing-wise, I feel like I just discovered that Equipment does more than silk shirts and cashmere sweaters. I don’t need another check blazer, but if I did, this one would probably top the list.

Are you planning to splurge on anything from the Net-a-Porter sale?
