With public access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale now open (!!), I thought I’d share a peek at what I’ve been considering “scooping” up.
I talk about this often, but I try to carefully consider my purchases, typically waiting 30+ days before I’ll add something to cart. Having been able to sit on these items for more than a month, I’ve had time to think about their longevity and versatility in my closet.
While a number of items in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale are currently sold out, I’d still suggest bookmarking items you love. You can usually bet that there’ll be some returns so it’s worth checking in daily in case there’s a restock.
Nordstrom Stretch Silk Tank Dress
Top of my wishlist from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is this beautiful black silk tank dress. There’s not much to it, but it looks elegant and refined. And I love that there’s a bit of stretch in there too; gives a sense that it’s more robust – something that is meant to be lived in. And if you needed any more convincing… the dress has pockets! To me this is the ultimate dress to take you from work, to dinner, to the weekend. Not to mention a year-rounder too. Just layer a merino long sleeve and some tights underneath for winter. Safe to say I have this one marked in my wishlist and Karma in the hopes it comes back in stock in my size.
Club Monaco Fringe Knit Tank
I find it really challenging to come across (Sydney) summer-friendly tops which aren’t basic. Don’t get me wrong. I love my basics; they’re the foundation of your closet. But in the summertime when you’re wearing those same basics day in and day out, it can feel stale fast. I really like the look of this Club Monaco Tank as it looks and acts like a basic, but has some elevated details. It has a knitted striped effect, in addition to fringing near the hemline which adds some great texture. Perfect if you love a tonal or monochromatic look.
Dagne Dover Small Vida Organic Cotton Tote
So I don’t really need anymore bags right now, but this one from Dagne Dover really captured my attention. Practicality is clearly something that is front of mind when I’m shopping for my closet these days. Less buying for my fantasy self; indulging my “real” self instead. I was initially drawn to this bag in the ivory, but the black is nice too. If you’re a mum, I think this is a nice option for a “nappy” bag. It’s discreet, in an easy-to-care-for fabric, and has loads of pockets.
Rag & Bone Maya High Waist Ankle Slim Straight Jeans
Since the button popped off my beloved Witchery jeans, I’ve been toying with the idea of seeking out an alternative. I got them repaired, but then that button popped off too. So in the meantime while in lockdown, I’m making do by wearing them belted to conceal the missing button. These jeans from Rag & Bone look like they have a similar light blue “acid” wash. The cut isn’t exactly the same, but I do love that slim-not-too-straight fit through the leg. And they’re 100% cotton too so I imagine they’ll have that vintage denim feel.
All Saints Curb Chain Collar Necklace
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you can have a simple outfit, but still make a big impact. It’s all in the accessories. And you know, it’s funny how seeing certain styles pop up again and again can slowly start to garner your interest. As after years of wearing dainty chains, now all I want to wear is a chunky necklace and thick gold hoops. I loved this option from All Saints – currently sold out – as a statement-making necklace. The chain is super chunky, and combines both gold and silver tones. Great if you like to mix metals, and a fun point of interest, especially when opting for a basic outfit. Not included in the same but in a similar style is this one from Ben-Amun.
