I’m still reeling over the fact that there are less than two weeks left in the year – something that always seems to hit me as soon as we start winding down in the office for the year – and even though I’m working right through the break, I’m looking forward to spending the festive season with loved ones, and enjoying some of that summer sunshine.
While there’s been a few new additions to my wardrobe which have quickly found their way into regular rotation, I love this time of year as it’s an opportunity to pull out some of my old favourites, like the vintage denim shorts I scored for 99 cents on eBay two years ago, or the Karen Walker boucle skirt that’s been a staple for the last five years.
I’m mostly settled on the fact that as hard as I try, I’m never going to be the girl who goes for full on colour, all day, every day, and I’ve found myself reaching for that same primarily neutral colour palette which I’ve long favoured. What can I say? I’m undeniably a creature of habit. Summer for me is the epitome of easy dressing; no layering necessary (and when the thermostat is hitting 33 degrees celsius, why would you want to?).
If you’d like to get more than just a little peek into the foundations of my summer wardrobe, then have a watch of the video that I shared on my YouTube below, which features all my favourite wardrobe pieces that I’ll be reaching for over the next couple of months.
Hi, where did you get your clothes rack? I always admire it! x

Hi Lucy,
I bought it from Freedom Furniture – I’m not sure if it’s still available though as I got it quite a while back! x
