If you caught my most recent YouTube upload, then you’ve probably already gotten a glimpse at this outfit. But, I thought I’d share a quick download of it anyway.
Wearing Boden stripe top; Among shorts; Oliver Cabell flats (review here); Quince crossbody bag; PORTRAIT Eyewear sunglasses
I’ve been doing two things when putting together outfits lately. Thinking about proportion and shape, and also drawing inspiration from style icons. In this case, Audrey Hepburn. Stripes are a total classic, and I love this navy and white striped mariniere from Boden. I sized up for more of a relaxed fit, and I’m glad I did. It gives me a bit more fabric and “volume” to play with.
The shorts tie into the monochrome kick I’ve been on for a good few months now. Clearly, a styling tool I lean on heavily. I’ve really come to appreciate a slightly longer short, and something that has a tailored fit. I know I say this often, but these really do tick all the boxes.
Then to accessorise, I went with simple black. Personally I adore how black looks with navy outfits, and while matching the colour of your shoes and bag can sometimes feel a little “basic”, I really liked it for this outfit. The ballet flats are among the comfiest I own right now, and the mock croc embossed bag adds a nice little touch of texture.
