Acne Studios Mini Musubi Bag Review in Camel

If you’ve been keeping an eye on my Instagram or YouTube channel, then you’ve probably already spotted my latest bag purchase; the Acne Studios Mini Musubi Bag.

I can be a little fickle when it comes to bag purchases. Absolutely sure one day, only to find myself swelling with doubt the next. Only natural when you’re spending a lot on one item. With the Acne Musubi, colour played a key role in my hesitancy. I knew I wanted a brown. But not a reddish-toned brown. Ideally something that was more neutral to cool toned. Nothing too dark. Or too light either. This season’s “camel” colour hit the mark for me – enough so that I finally found myself going through with the purchase.

Admittedly right now, I’m still feeling it out. I’ve primarily been using it for long walks and trips to the supermarket while in lockdown; but plan to share more of a review after I’ve had a chance to use it for a few months.

But, as far as first impressions go…

After watching a number of reviews, I settled on the “mini” size, which I can say with some certainty isn’t really mini at all. I can fit all my bag essentials (wallet, phone, bluetooth headphones case, keys, mask, sanitiser + lip balm) with plenty of room to spare. That said, I don’t know how I’d go trying to squeeze a lightweight knit in there with all that.

The interior of the bag is separated into two compartments, split down the centre with a zip up pocket. Great for storing essentials. I personally like this as I find it’s convenient when packing items into the bag for easy locating later.

It’s a smooth leather. Not so delicate that the mildest scratch will leave a mark, but I’m already conscious that I need to be mindful how I handle it. It has a simple snap closure at the centre. Enough to provide that bit of security.

The straps are great. Even when it’s weighed down, it feels comfortable to wear. The wide strap distributes the weight of the bag evenly, and doesn’t leave me with a sore spot on my collarbones like some of my other bags do. I also like that the longer strap is adjustable and removable. There are some little snap pegs concealed under the origami-like bows on the sides which allow this function.

There’s every possibility that my initial impressions will end up being lasting ones; I thought it might be interesting to reflect back once I’ve had a chance to use the bag a bit more.

Will pop some options in the carousel below where you can find the Acne Studios Musubi bag; and if you have any further questions, please leave them in the comments below! x

Are you able to fit a book in the bag?

It would be really awkward to fit in I think (we don’t have any regular sized ones in the house right now as most of our belongings are in storage while renovating). You definitely should be able to with the large size though
