Never did I ever think I’d find myself buying a pair of sneakers that looked “lovingly” worn in brand new. But, after hearing such great things about the Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers, I decided I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
It also seemed like a fitting autumnal purchase, and perfect for #mumlife.
Colour-wise, I was torn between buying the pristine-looking “new” pair, or opting for one of their classic aged options. In the end, the latter won out. I’ve been continuing to love the neutrals trend – something I see being a big style influence for me this season – so wanted a style to match. The tan lizard and grey pair struck me as meeting a nice balance between a classic colour combination, while still feeling a little bit fun.
I’ve only had the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers for a couple of weeks now, but am planning to share a detailed review in the coming months over whether I think these are ultimately worth the hefty price tag they come with.
Have you ever thought about investing in a pair? And if so, how do you rate yours?
Oh no! I cannot bear the idea of buying pre-scuffed sneakers. Maybe because I am the ultimate virgo, even as a kid I had pristine runners. I hope you love them, but I would save my $$$ investment for a nice handbag or special heels that (hopefully) last forever. Looking forward to reading your review xx
I had the same thoughts as you..but decided to splurge on a pair for my birthday. I must say, I think they were worth it. I wear them ALL. THE. TIME. I think it’s because they already look worn – I’ve never been a fan of bright white sneakers. They’re extremely comfortable and I didn’t need to break them in at all. I’m surprised at how often I can wear them and I find that they go with everything. I really like wearing them with dresses. I’m curious if the lookalikes I’ve seen are just as good..but for now, I’m really happy that I decided to invest in these.

It’s funny because my husband absolutely loved them when I showed him. He’s the kind of person who prefers more of a lived in look for his sneakers. Because I’m planning on doing this best basics series, I’ve now got a generous number of pairs and it’s been really interesting seeing what ones are comfortable and which ones aren’t. I totally agree with you on the comfort factor. I wore these all day when I arrived, and actually for days after, and haven’t had a single blister which is great, especially as I have wider feet. So glad to hear that you’ve been happy with your pair too!
