wearing Lover the Label jasmine lace dress (this is also a beautiful option), Dior marbled heels
I’d say there’s still a good couple of months until I’ll be able to share the photos from my wedding day, so I thought in the meantime, I’d give you all a sneak peek of what I wore for the ceremony on our big day, captured my one of my gorgeous bridesmaids as we waited to head to the wedding venue.
Unlike most brides (and I’m speaking pretty generally here…!), I didn’t even step foot inside a bridal boutique; when it came to finding ‘the one’, I knew it was going to come from Lover, and there was absolutely no question about it. On a day where I think you put so much pressure on every single element to be perfect – which it incredibly was – I wasn’t the type of bride who wanted to spend weeks agonising over which dress to buy, only to find myself doubting my choice later.
Having read about the paradox of choice many years ago, I decided to try on just two dresses which had completely caught my eye – I’m a sucker for Lover’s French lace – and while the dress I chose felt completely out of my comfort zone, in that moment, and in ever moment since, I knew that it was the right dress for me. I think I’d probably also watched enough episodes of Say Yes to the Dress to know that a strapless ballgown wasn’t even close to the direction that I wanted to head in, and I wanted something that was a little delicate, with an almost other-worldly feel to it.
But in saying all of that, I think I always knew I was going to be a Lover girl on my wedding day, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
I’ll be sharing all the details of the wedding in due course, so if you have any specific questions related to it that you wanted to ask me, please be sure to drop it in the comments section below! xx
Sooooo beautiful! That dress is gorgeous. And very appropriate for you to wear one of your favorite labels! If I ever get married I’m hoping to not go the regular bridal shop route. And I won’t be going strapless either.

Oh my gosh! you looked stunning!! That dress is sooo you even if you think it was out of your comfort zone. I absolutely love it
Absolutely lovely! It makes you look beautiful but still you are more important than the dress… perfect! 🙂
I always send snapchats to my boyfriend when I visit the Lover store in Sydney. I know that that is where I want to get a dress from too! I just love their lace. You looked incredible! I love this fit on you!

So beautiful! I just found my wedding gown after two months of looking! Unlike your search, I searched throughout NYC to find my gown. I was fortunate to document it on my blog too. Wedding planning is so stressful so I hope writing about it will relieve some stress:)

I think this is my favorite wedding dress I’ve ever seen. I want to say it’s simple yet elegant but “simple” really isn’t the right word. It’s just perfect for your unassuming but still makes the undisputed statement that “this is the bride”. It’s certainly not the “strapless ballgown” look and that’s so refreshing. I want it!

Tara that is a huge compliment, thank you so much! It’s actually still available via Lover – I believe it’s part of their permanent collection x
