Outfit: 30X30 Capsule Day 5

So turns out in my haste to share my weekend outfits, I completely overlooked sharing what I actually wore on Friday; or day three of my 30X30. While I’d usually try and do a Fancy Friday outfit, after surviving through almost an entire month of extremely broken sleep, all I wanted to wear was something that felt like loungewear, only wasn’t.

The first thing I made a beeline for was my chuck sweater from Sezane. I’ve admittedly found a lot of the brand’s knitwear to be hit or miss for various reasons, but this was one of the winners. Incredibly soft, a nice loose silhouette, and I loved the detail around the neckline. As a side note, I actually ended up laundering this sweater for the first time over the weekend. And, it was a big fail (part of which I credit to my own mistake). Rather than wash on a hand wash setting, I popped it in the machine on a short, cold cycle. Perhaps it was the vigorous spin at the end of the wash or maybe it was something else, but when I pulled it out it had shrunk every which way, and the fibres were literally stuck together. I had to spend a good ten minutes carefully peeling the fabric away from itself, before stretching it out in every direction. I’m hoping I’ll be able to salvage it in the same way I did with my Joseph knit, by leaving it to soak, carefully stretching it back into shape, and laying it flat to dry. Wish me luck!

Despite their smart appearance, the Forcast trousers are comfortable to wear even for lounging around. For me, that’s one of the marks of a good wardrobe staple. They so effortlessly transition from work to weekend, with a few minor adjustments. Completing the outfit are some black pointed toe flats from Everlane (shaping up to be a most worn item, again), and my Celine trio bag.
