I’ve managed to get a little waylaid on sharing my outfits from the weekend so playing a little bit of catch up here. It was wet and miserable in Sydney, so we spent the entire weekend indoors. I used the extra down time to get a head start on spring cleaning (read: decluttering) our home – something I’ve been putting off for months as I haven’t really had the time.
Wearing Everlane alpaca sweater*; Theory leather trousers (affordable alternative here); Golden Goose sneakers; Everlane mini form bag*
Not gonna lie, this wasn’t the most practical option for crouching down on the floor and pulling boxes out from under the bed. But it did keep me warm. I went for that old monochromatic trick, keeping things interesting with texture, despite it being a very simple outfit otherwise.
Of all the shoes I picked to include in this capsule, my Golden Gooses have been the ones I’ve reached for the least. I’m not hugely surprised. It’s really only been recently that sneakers have started to feature more in my outfits, and I naturally just tend to prefer a pointed or almond toed shoe as a styling option. I do find them really comfortable for days when I’m going to be on my feet a lot. Plus, it helps that they’ve got a low platform in the heel – it’s incredibly flattering.
Sunday was spent wearing loungewear – something I don’t often do. So I thought instead it would be fun to create an outfit pairing I hadn’t shared yet.
Wearing Witchery black linen wrap top (old but similar option here or luxe knit version here); Christopher Kane camo skirt (old but similar pink toned version); Charlotte Olympia kitty flats; Linjer crossbody bag*; Rosefield watch
Noting that there are really only a handful of days left in the challenge, I decided to swap out the silk floral wrap blouse for a plain alternative in the same style. I bought this top while I was pregnant, and it became a fast favourite in early autumn, and something I’m excited to wear again properly once the wear heats up.
Typically, I’d fasten the “belt” of the top at the front, doing my best efforts to tie a pretty bow. However it didn’t really feel right with this skirt. It was almost a little too… fussy? Instead I went a simpler route, and wrapped it multiple times around my waist before knotting it at my back. This does a great job at creating definition and maintaining that sleek silhouette.
Shoes are my kitty flats, of course. I swear these go with absolutely everything, and am so thrilled that this capsule wardrobe challenge has seriously reinvigorated my desire to wear them all. the. time.
Most days it’s been reasonably warm. So warm, that this kind of outfit would be suitable, with a utility jacket thrown on top. To layer it up further I’d add a nice pair of black opaque tights, and perhaps throw on a black cardigan underneath the jacket.
