A quick little Sunday check in to share the outfits I’ve worn for the past two days. For Saturday, I went with a #stickofbutter kind of look. Or as I like to call it, a vanilla sundae outfit. I tried to play into my love of neutrals – somewhat, at least – with this capsule, including a few lighter pieces that still worked well for winter.
Wearing Everlane alpaca sweater*; Karen Walker trousers; Golden Goose sneakers; Phillip Lim mini pashli; Mejuri bracelet*; Rosefield watch
The trousers are a pair that I bought while I was still pregnant. I’d anticipated myself wearing them in the weeks that followed the birth of our son, but what I hadn’t realised when I purchased them was just how long they’d be. I needed a good four inches or so lopped off the hem, so I sort of just tucked them in the back of my closet and forgot about them…
It took finding a local tailor for me to finally pull them out of hibernation and get them sorted. Safe to say, I’m so glad I did. The silhouette is different to what I usually go for. Something of a theme with trousers of late. I’m really loving the straight cut through the leg. Combined with the copped length (I find a hem a centimetre or so above my ankle is best for me), it’s a match made in heaven. Finished off with some sneakers, and a snuggly knit for texture.
Today’s outfit was a repeat of something I wore a couple weeks back. When I like a look, I’m really not afraid to wear it twice. It’s another one of those duo-tone outfits; black and white. Are you sensing a bit of a theme here?
Wearing Isabel Marant Etoile t-shirt; Zara jeans (old but similar here); & Other Stories cardigan; Everlane shoes*; Celine trio
I think I could throw this & Other Stories cardigan over any outfit and call it a day. I’ve been enjoying wearing it that much. It’s 100% wool so incredibly cosy, but doesn’t feel itchy against my skin. I also like the longer length. It balances out a high waisted trouser perfectly. Perhaps the only downside? It does require constant maintenance. I’ve found myself going at it with a wool comb every other wear to remove pilling.
