Thought I’d share a wrap up of some recent outfits; all very much suited to the transitional weather. Spring in Sydney can be a funny thing. 30 deg C and sunny one day, 18 deg C and raining the next. It can be all or nothing, but I do love this time of year. Layering; bare legs; lighter colour palettes. All good things.
Wearing Everlane black tank; Everlane blazer; Everlane way high jeans (review here); About Arianne shoes; Fendi bag; Mejuri necklace; Linjer watch
First outfit is a classic. A fail safe that I’ll often reach for (in varying forms) when I’m not sure what to wear. In this instance, I went with a minimal colour palette, the only real hint of warmth coming from the blue wash of the jeans. While in past years I might have favoured a skinny jean here, I’m enjoying the balance that a straight leg silhouette (cropped, always), brings to the outfit. Instead opting to add a slimmer element in my shoes with something dainty and refined.

I’ve made no secret of my love of monochromatic looks. Especially in white, they feel fresh, and it’s the most effortless way to look put together with minimal effort. Sign me up. Perhaps the biggest thing I’ve taken away from this outfit is the styling. In the past I would have been tempted to tuck in my shirt. Always. But lately, I’ve really leaned into the relaxed nature of wearing shirts loose. Perhaps with a few buttons left undone. By the way, if you’re looking for a great pair of denim shorts, I can’t recommend these ones from Arket enough. They’re not too short, and also have a nice wide leg opening so feel comfortable when sitting down.
Wearing Arket striped dress; Uniqlo U trench coat; Vaneli two tone pumps; Chanel vintage classic flap; Mejuri necklace
This outfit felt so quintessentially Parisian to me. An ode to my inner Francophile (hah!). The elements are quite cookie cutter, but classic, so they always work in combination. Stripes in the form of a loose t-shirt dress rather than a basic Breton is what keeps this feeling fresh for me. Two tone pumps are always one of my favourites. Then you have the trench (another classic staple in many wardrobes). And to really lean in to those classically French style elements, I opted to wear my vintage Chanel. Why not, right?
Wearing Venroy cashmere sweater; Everlane 90s cheeky straight jeans; Andersons belt; Vaneli two tone pumps; Acne Studios mini musubi bag; Mejuri earrings; Monica Vinader necklace
Again I used some basic style guidelines when putting together this outfit. Each piece is cool toned, which makes the look feel harmonious, but I feel like it’s the shoes which tie it all in together. Here, I again opted for the two-tone pumps, because they mimic the colours worn for the knit and the jeans. The knit is probably my favourite component though. Super slouchy, super soft cashmere, with a relaxed v-neck and collar detail.
Wearing Everlane cotton tank; Boden cashmere cardigan; Bec + Bridge slip skirt (old but similar here); Vaneli two tone pumps; Acne Studios mini musubi bag; Chanel brooch; Mejuri necklace
Last outfit I wanted to share was another tonal look. While I’ve really leaned on denim lately, I like that this by contrast is much more of a feminine look. But it still felt easy, and casual enough to wear at home. The building blocks of this outfit are a fitted tank and a slip skirt in a bias cut, which are a good foundation as you can take the styling so many different ways. In this instance, I wore one of my favourite cardigans, fully buttoned but loose over top. Here, I actually sized up to an L as I wanted to ensure I could achieve this level of ease in my outfit. You’ll spy my Chanel brooch pinned to the knit; a great way to add in a little bit of extra embellishment, especially when wearing simple outfit combinations.
Hi Jamie,
What are your thoughts on the Fendi bag? I’ve been eyeing this for a while but hesitating because I’m not sure how comfortable it is to use.
I have to go to work (in person) everyday and I use public transport.
Thanks!

Hi! So I’ve had mine a few years, and personally, I really like it. Being a fabric, it tucks really nicely under the arm and the strap is a decent thickness. Suits the size and shape of the bag, but also feels slightly wider than your typical shoulder strap would be. Tucks really nicely under the shoulder too so you can easily hug it close to the body if you’re concerned about pickpockets x
