Black style essentials worth having in your wardrobe

Carrying on from my last post about investing in your wardrobe, today I wanted to share some black style essentials that form the backbone of my own closet. Getting the basics nailed is half the equation of pulling together a chic outfit, and it helps that head to toe monochrome always looks effortless. Wearing Atmos & Here black tank, Citizens of Humanity jeans, Vince cardigan (old but similar here), Isabel Marant heels (old but similar here), Celine trotteur bag, Mejuri earrings, Muru Jewellery necklace, Missoma necklace, Gold bangle (old but similar here) Many of my day-to-day outfits end up having…

Investing in your wardrobe: How to shop smarter and spend less

It’s usually around this time of year that I feel inspired to introduce colour, vibrance and print into my wardrobe, but for a change, I’ve found myself taking a step back. Instead, I’m thinking long game; investment buys that I’ll have (and love) for years to come. While this isn’t exactly news – I’ve been opting for well-made quality items over fast fashion for years – I thought it might be a good time to talk about investing in your wardrobe as this time of year is when we are often planning out our closets for the seasons ahead. Mixing old with new & some musings on the current state of my wardrobe

Ending the week with one of my go-to outfit combinations at the moment; a snuggly knit sweater worn with a mini skirt, and a duster-length coat thrown over for good measure. Despite the mismatched proportions of the coat and skirt, I’ve always found that these two hemlines draw a bit of balance when paired together. Wearing Icebreaker merino sweater (on sale), Willow leather skirt (old but similar here), Edgii duster coat (old but similar here), Charlotte Olympia pumps (old but similar here), JW Anderson logo bag (also here) And I’m sure you’ll also have spotted a *new* bag. Funnily enough,…

Five Transitional Wardrobe Staples I’m Currently Loving

Over the past few weeks, my inbox has been inundated with brand emails sharing all the latest styles for the season ahead. I mean, Spring (and Autumn for those in the Northern Hemisphere) is well and truly here. While I’m clearly in need of giving my subscriptions a bit of a detox, I figured it’s been a fair while since I cobbled together a wishlist of sorts, so I wanted to round up five transitional wardrobe staples I’ve spotted which I think would be a great addition to any closet. 1 | & Other Stories Oversized Wool Workwear Shirt I…

How I upgraded my Transitional Wardrobe

You only have to take a quick look at my seasonal most worn wrap ups to see that the items I rely on tend to be old favourites. As we shift into the transitional season, I’ve been thinking a little about how I can upgrade my wardrobe with minimum effort, for maximum impact. Wearing Joseph rollneck sweater (affordable here), Christopher Kane camo skirt, Grana alpaca coat (similar here), Isabella Anselmi sock boots (sold out but similar here), Polene bag, Mejuri pearl earrings I’ve said it before but a new season doesn’t signal the need for a whole new wardrobe; though…
