Wardrobe Shopping Tips

The more mindful I’ve become about what I add to my wardrobe, the more time I seem to spend thinking about potential purchases. So I thought it might be useful to share some of the wardrobe shopping tips and habits I’ve developed which help me decide what to buy. Wearing Everlane cotton turtleneck, Karen Walker houndstooth skirt (old but I like this one), Grana alpaca coat (s/o but similar here), Sam Edelman loafers (also here), Oroton icon clutch, Holly J pearl earrings I’ve been shifting away from the impulsive mindset of my twenties, to a more considered approach. While I…

Feeling like you’re in a style rut

Do you ever feel like you’re in a bit of a style rut? It’s only natural… right? You’ve identified your style, you’ve got your daily uniform all figured out, and your favourite staples on rotation. I always find it’s when that ‘same-same’ mentality starts to creep in, that I begin feeling dissatisfied with what I’m wearing. I start asking myself if my outfit is too similar to what I wore the day before, if I should be experimenting with my wardrobe more, or if I need to inject something fun to spice things up. The June Beauty Edit ‘19

One of the main things I feel like I experimented with in June was my makeup. I’ve been wearing winged liner since I was around 20 years old, so to mix things up I started smudging a bit of dark shadow at the outer corners. I decided to dial my routine back a notch and for the most part, am using just three…

How I’m wearing monochrome this winter

Another day, another excuse to wear a milky-toned look. Clearly, I’ve been taking this neutrals trend pretty seriously. As much as I love wearing head to toe black (hello winter uniform!), swapping out those staples for lighter hues during the colder months still feels fresh. Wearing Mott & Bow sweater, Topshop trousers (old but similar here and also love this style), Edgii grey wool coat, Dior slingbacks (old but similar here), Phillip Lim mini pashli, Reliquia earrings A lot of how I get dressed in the morning is centred around my wardrobe favourites – the ‘hot’ items of the minute…

How to spend 24 hours in Melbourne

A couple weeks’ back Luke and I travelled to Melbourne for a whirlwind trip to celebrate my friend Georgie’s 30th birthday. Eating good food, and catching up with friends was high up on the agenda, and it’s little surprise that we left with bellies bulging and hearts full. Given we’ve been living in Australia over five years now, and seldom head on the road to travel outside of Sydney, it was a good reminder to jet off on a city break every now and then. Wearing M&S navy sweater, Levis skinny jeans, Stella McCartney coat (old but love this one…
