The May Beauty Edit ‘19

My main focus in May – aside from getting my daily videos ready and uploaded on time – was skincare. I’m not sure what it is about travel, but I find my complexion always has a bit of a mini freak out. It probably didn’t help that I had a bit of hormonal acne, and I’d been consuming more sugar than usual. Basically, despite having some amazing products on hand, my skin wasn’t looking its best. While I try to take care with what I am applying to my face (our skin is our body’s largest organ), I test out…

Everlane Day Glove ReKnit Review & Comparison

Over on Instagram, I put up a poll to see if there would be any interest in a review of the Everlane Day Glove ReKnit flats, and the overwhelming response was yes. The original leather Day Gloves are Everlane’s best-selling shoe, so I was curious to see how these compared. I reviewed the original style a while back and you can read that blog post here, but TLDR; I wasn’t quite sure on the style, loved the soft weightless feel, but ultimately they were on the narrow side. Essentially, they weren’t great for my wide feet. Wearing Topshop white tee,…

5PFW Purchase: Lover ruffle midi skirt

More monochrome. If that’s not a signal that winter is practically on our doorsteps, then I’m not sure what is. With autumn wrapping up, I’m starting to reflect on my wardrobe additions over the last three months. This Lover ruffle skirt is another one of my 5PFW purchases for autumn. A frilly, delicious midi skirt that immediately caught my eye, I was drawn to the feminine silhouette and floral spot print. I’d intended for this to be an upgrade on a Topshop hanky hem skirt I bought around two years ago. Somehow – as is inevitable with me and polka…

Winter Wardrobe Planning ’19

While I wouldn’t say I look forward to winter, the cool drop in temperature has had me thinking about my winter wardrobe. Working off my 5PFW wishlist for the year, I’ve already got an idea of what my wardrobe is lacking. Having run through the key elements of my wardrobe for the season ahead, there’s not much more I really need to add. The guidelines I’ve drawn around what I buy in 2019 have helped me to be more focused with what I do add to my wardrobe, and the limitations have stopped me from feeling tempted to indulge in…

A couple pre-loved fashion finds

I recently saw some statistics on the pre-loved fashion market, and was thrilled to spot that year on year, it’s been a growing part of clothing budgets. I’ve been buying pre-loved clothing since I was in my teens. It was a way for me to add to my wardrobe on a budget, plus invest in brands that might otherwise be out of my price range. And while my motivations may have shifted slightly, my love for pre-loved fashion hasn’t. Wearing Frame Denim black top (similar option), ASOS jeans, Dior slingback flats (affordable dupe), Mon Purse bag, Muru Jewellery necklace, Mejuri…
