Autumn Most Worn ’23

Time for another seasonal update on what was on heavy rotation. This time, for autumn. Or as I’ve been joking; autumn “lite”. It’s probably worth noting that it was milder than usual, and even now, into winter, I’m still heading out every other day with bare legs. One of the perks of living in Sydney; its mild climate.  I’ve collated the data slightly differently this time around, combining the wear count on styles where I have multiples. To me, what I’m really trying to analyse here is the style itself. While colour can be a factor, in my very neutral…

A week of trench coat outfit ideas

As I type this, I’m sitting here in a sleeveless top, with my ankles bared. Winter may have begun, but it’s yet to enter the chat. So for days when I’m in the mood for layering, I’m leaning on a transitional season favourite; the classic trench coat. I’ve got three styles here which lean a little more classic, but in a worsted wool with a soft fluid drape to it. If you’re a regular around here, then you’ll pick up on the usual styling tricks I feature weekly. Rule of thirds; colour balancing; tonal styling; blocks of colour; use of…

Beauty Top 3: May ’23

Seasonal beauty changeover has begun; opting for heavier scents, deeper lipsticks, and increasingly luscious creams (to combat winter dryness). Which gives you an insight into my three favourites of the month, which I’ve been using on repeat. Let’s dive in. Colder, darker days seem to call for warming scents, so anything that is earthy or woody tends to be my pick. I’ve been enjoying Commodity’s Paper (expressive), which works well as a unisex scent. Very musky, with key notes of Iso E Super, Cedarwood and…

A week of early winter outfit ideas

Winter is on our heels, so this week’s dose of outfit inspiration is centred around cold weather (with the help of tights for outfit 5). More relaxed silhouettes tend to reign supreme this time of year as they give you options to layer innerwear/thermals depending on how frosty it is. For those that like to wear colour, you could easily do a like-for-like outfit by swapping in your favourite hue in varying tones. Key is to go warm or cool, as a blend of the two can often feel a little unsettling on the eye. Which outfit is your favourite?…

OOTD: Wearing Quince leather shirt w/ white midi skirt

A quick OOTD from earlier in the week, as I try to make the most of those few remaining “bare legs” days before winter hits. The minimalist aesthetic, aka “quiet luxury” seems to be making the rounds yet again, and given my own penchant for a pared back, simple outfit, I’m here for it. Wearing Baserange l/s top; Quince leather shirt; Marks & Spencer midi skirt*; Aeyde Uma Mary Jane flats (also here); Arket bag; Mejuri hoop earrings*; Linjer necklace* This particular outfit is a reflection of the style references I’ve been saving recently. All black, with a contrasting skirt…
