Beauty Top 3: Feb ’23

Despite my love of beauty, I’ve fallen off the bandwagon of chatting through things that I do (and equally don’t) like. Generally these tend to be drawn out by weeks (and sometimes months) of testing, where I feel the need to unpack many, many thoughts. Instead, speedy mini reviews on a monthly basis seem like that sweet spot, to share what I’m loving in a digestible, bite-sized way. Also slightly old school… remember those regular beauty favourites videos, anyone? Grown Alchemist Hydra-Restore Cream Cleanser My go-to morning cleanser. I’m quite specific here, as I find a lot of cleansers which…

A week of simple summer outfits

Summer is slowly starting to come to a close; transitional season outfits are on the horizon, so I’m trying to make the most of my warm weather wardrobe favourites. Noteworthy this week is that I’ve been at pains to wear more colour in my every day. In particular, reaching for this camisole from St Agni, as well as finally getting this shirt from Nothing Written into regular rotation. Spring Most Worn ’22

The novelty of being able to go back and review my most worn items – based on real hard data – has yet to wear off. Even so many years on. Often it serves as a bearing of whether a purchase was a wise one. As each season, and year on year, these much-loved items have rarely seen a seismic shift. I can expect that during the warmer months, some…

A week of minimal monochromatic outfits

Craving the comfort of a cosy knit sweater here, yet being “treated” to the mugginess that typically accompanies a Sydney summer. Despite my eye settling on a little more colour of late, these outfits are completely devoid of it. Neutrals from head to toe. Contrast and texture are what stop these outfits from feeling dull. As well as leaning into silhouettes that feel fresh, like the maxi skirt, fluid drape trousers, or full length straight leg jeans. OUTFIT #1 | Jenni Kayne sweater* (15% off with JamieLee15); FRONTROW trousers* (10% off with mademoiselle2023); Veja sneakers; Celine trio OUTFIT #2 |…

Styling a maxi length trouser skirt

Maxi length trouser skirts seem to be having a bit of a moment as we continue to see trends from the 90s and early 00s creep have a strong sartorial presence. Unlike low rise jeans or platforms shoes – been there, done that – this is one “trend” I’ll happily get on board with. The reason being that it doesn’t stray too far from my comfort zone. Wearing DISSH tee*; DISSH maxi skirt*; Lemaire croissant bag; More Joy cap; Gucci crystal slingback heels The cut, silhouette, and suiting style fabric have a tendency to make these types of skirts feel…
