Comparing opposites

KW brocade skirt & blazer, Glassons peplum top (similar), Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, Alexander Wang emile tote Still toting the tote, which has become a semi-permanent fixture on my arm due to the sheer amount of things that I can fit in here. Having become accustomed to smaller bags, I had forgotten how much one double (or possibly even triple in this case) the size can accommodate. For instance, over the weekend I managed to fit my DSLR, wallet, notebook, water bottle and yoga gear with plenty of room to spare. It’s gotten me thinking about the debate on big…

I’m thinking it’s time for a shopping ban

Zara linen t-shirt, 3.1 by Phillip Lim skirt, Country Rd blazer (similar), Witchery embellished flats, Alexander Wang emile tote, Diva necklace, Marc by Marc Jacobs bolt bracelet I’ve decided. I’m officially on a shopping ban. I’m not sure for how long, and I anticipate that I will allow myself the odd concession, but after somehow managing to hunt down every item on my Spring wishlist and then some, I get the feeling that there is very little updating that my wardrobe now needs. changing tastes

Karen Walker dress, Helmut Lang blazer, Charlotte Olympia shoes It occurred to me the other day, how seldom I wear dresses in comparison with a few short years ago, when I would sub-consciously reach for them each morning, throwing an oversized cardigan over the top and calling it a day. Why it’s taken me almost two years to notice this, I couldn’t even begin to explain, although I…

Emile

Alexander Wang ’emile’ tote After hunting high and low for this bag in the black pebbled leather with rose gold hardware, I found I had luck on my side, as a special order came through for me on Net-a-Porter. Finally I’m able to retire my considerably worn yet much-loved MBMJ patent leather tote in favour of a bag that not only seems roomier, but also has a shoulder strap which I imagine will make it the perfect travel companion. It won’t be long now until I’ve ticked off every item from my Spring wishlist..

Full circle

Kate Sylvester Top, Supre jeans, Karen Walker blazer, Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, Proenza Schouler PS11 bag, Marc by Marc Jacobs katie bracelet I remember once, when I was in my early teens, exclaiming that I would never wear skinny jeans. I finally succumbed after two years, and ever since they have been my jean of choice. I’m not sure I ever made the same comments about white jeans, although considering how long it actually took me to buy them, it’s probably highly likely. What’s more, is that they have quickly become a staple item in my wardrobe. In fashion, it…
